New World has received a great deal of attention as a result of the failure of various graphics cards while playing the closed beta. The game was initially set for May, but was subsequently postponed until August due to scheduling conflicts.

The game's makers have now said on Twitter that it will be published on September 28th as previously announced. Amazon Games, a gaming company that is a subsidiary of the tech behemoth Amazon, is working on the project. A massively multiplayer online role-playing game set in the 17th century, in which players are tasked with colonizing an island, is called Colonization. An example of this is the Open 3D Engine, which was developed through a cooperation between the Open 3D Foundation, which is sponsored by the Linux Foundation, and Amazon Games. This is one of the most technically intriguing elements of the game. New World is the first big game to use the open-source engine, and it is also the most ambitious.
