Intel's new flagship processor, the Xeon W7-2495X, has made its debut through benchmark entries just a week before its official introduction. And as it turns out, it's not even as fast as the Core i9 13900K

As part of the upcoming Xeon W-2400 series, this processor boasts up to 24 and 48 threads. The series will be competing with the upcoming Xeon W-3400 series, which is expected to launch later with up to 56 cores.

The W7-2495X was tested with a Lenovo system and 128GB of DDR5 memory, although the motherboard name has not been confirmed. Results showed that the processor has a base clock of 2.5 GHz and can boost up to 4.6 GHz, but leaked specs slides indicate that it may reach up to 4.8 GHz. During the Geekbench V5 Compute test, the CPU scored 1497 points in the single-core test and 24685 points in the multi-core test. It is slower than the Core i9-13900K but faster than the AMD Threadripper Pro 5965WX.

Intel's Xeon Workstation Sapphire Rapids processors will be officially announced on February 15th, with official reviews set to be published on February 22nd. The launch date is expected to be in mid-March, although Intel has yet to confirm.
