18-06-2010 - Network Downtime due to Packet Loss

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 06/18/2010 12:06 PM | source: | 0 comment(s)

Attention please

Over the past few days we noticed severe packet loss over international nodes making the Guru3D Network / Servers very difficult to reach for some of you. Together with our host we found out that there is a nasty issue with the Internet backbone provider.

Roughly 80% of the visitors access the site without issues whatsoever, but that other 20% has massive packetloss on one of the peers.

Currently EuroAccess is on site in the datacenter and have acknowledged the problem. Right now there is generic BGP reload which in phases will restart networks and later on the two core routers will either receive an update or get replaced.

This is massive work for the backbone provider. Currently I do not have an ETA as to when maintenance will be finished. With a bit of luck everything is solved today, it also might be a couple of days before all is solved.

Please have patience and out apologies to the ones that have such a hard time reaching the website !

Update - looks like the issue is solved, there hasn't been any pakcet-loss ever since the past 12 hours.
