Obvs a goodly strong and water proof case when it comes to portable storage, all in one package is a good idea.
But there are trade offs with caddy's!
Its something I have not looked into but Hilbert's post has sparked my noodle to find out how much better some caddy's are and how more cost effective they can be against said package. Also you get extra flexibility with a caddy as the ssd being: sata, nvme, pcie can be put into a PC and so on an so forth blah de blah de blah.
BTW who has a real good portable external SSD enclosure caddy. :)
