The Software

You get a lot of software with the TerraTec DMX 6-fire.  A whole lot.  A big frickin’ load of stuff.

You get:

  • DMX Control Panel (drivers, applet)
  • WaveLab Lite 2.0
  • MusicMatch Jukebox
  • Cyberlink PowerDVD 3.0 5.1 channel edition
  • Algorithmix Sound Laundry TerraTec Edition
  • Emagic Logic Fun
  • HOTSTUFF

Steinberg WaveLab 2.0

Sound Laundry

Well, we all could have guessed about the PowerDVD.  However, the WaveLab Lite 2.0, which is a newer version than what is supplied by Creative, is very nice.  So is the Algorithmix Sound Laundry.  Most vinyl lovers out there will live in this piece of software.  The Emagic Logic Fun, while the name sounds like an oxymoron, is a full featured MIDI-sequencing monster of a program.  It will even work with staff notation in addition to wav’s and MIDI.

And as if you felt like you did not get enough software, there is an entire directory of stuffware, the HOTSTUFF directory, to fill out the CD.  Most stuffware is bad or worse, total crap, but not with the 6-fire.  There are a few demos, but most of the stuff is shareware or free, stuff like CoolEdit, GoldWave, Fuerio, Arturia Storm, Multiquence, WinDAC, and that’s just the stuff I’ve heard of.  There are plenty of MIDI sequencers, emulators, samplers, synthesizers, meters, and the list goes on.  So much software that you can’t shake the proverbial stick at.  It’s just too much work.
