SteelSeries GG Software

SteelSeries GG Software

SteelSeries GG software has been available on the market for some time. It’s still not the best piece of suite that you can find. The main issue here is that Steelseries tries to sell you their products, show the giveaways, and a “moments” section (for gameplay capture)

The tabs available here are:

  • Home
  • Moments
  • Engine
  • Giveaways
  • Sonar
  • and Settings

In the Engine section, you and access the 10-band equalizer, output gain setting, mic volume, line output mode selection, and sideline controls.

The Sonar section contains the “Mixer,” where you have a slide for the Master/Game/Chat/Mic. The main good thing is that with the ChatMix feature, you can balance the volume between, for example, Discord and everything else. It’s because Sonar creates two separate virtual playback devices (SteelSeries Sonar – Gaming and SteelSeries Sonar – Chat).

The “Game” tab has a parametric equalizer (you can choose the predefined profiles from SteelSeries if you don’t want to fine-tune it). There’s also an option for virtual surround sound technology (Microsoft Spatial Sound, 360° Spatial Audio, and Tempest 3D Audio are supported, depending on the platform).

There’s a toggle for ClearCast AI Noise Cancellation in the Chat/Microphone tabs. It would be better to have all the features in the Engine section, not split between the two like it is now.
