A Sneak preview: Radeon RX Vega 64
A meet & greet with the all new Vega 64

The moment is getting closer. Upcoming Monday you are going to see the the first AMD Radeon RX Vega reviews. media have received their cards and today, Saturday, we're allowed to show you some unboxing of the stuff that AMD delivered.

AMD delivered a special media packaging with the Vega 64. Above, you can see that, it had a few surprises harbored inside the package though:

So I full retail packaging will not get this as a bundle, but sitting on top of the Vega 64 box is a plexi-glass cube with, in the middle, the Vega logo laser-etched in there. To the left you can see a GPU dummy of the Vega GPU as well, nice touch, but let's focus on that GPU.

So I grabbed the good old 100mm macro lens and decide to make that money-shot photo of the GPU, above you can see the package, GPU and two 4GB HBM2 stacks.

Alright, so there she is; the Radeon RX Vega 64 Black from AMD, we received an (obvious) 8 GB version with heat-pipe design cooler. It has two PCIe PEG power connector (8-pin) connectors.

This Radeon RX Vega 64 is armed with 8 GB HBM2 graphics memory which will be clocked at 945 MHz / 2048-bit to give you a little more leash with the higher resolutions and image quality settings. The reference clocked product will run with clock frequencies up-to 1247 MHz on its 4096 shader processors with a 1546 MHz available boost. The card itself is the familiar looking dual-slot solution. Next page please.
