Display

I'm coming from a Sony Xperia X10 so you can imagine how cool I find the new display. What a lovely screen the S III has, it is really good and thanks to increased pixels per inch you are now at HD Ready level. The Galaxy S III smartphone has a 4.8-inch 720x1280 HD Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen display that makes all the difference.

It has amongst the best black levels, is razor sharp and is very colorful (albeit maybe not color precise). But really, the clarity and quality of this little screen is brilliant.

If we zoom in a little we can recognize the PenTile Matrix, not at all loved by everybody based on earlier reviews. PenTile AMOLED displays have proven to be more reliable and have a better lifespan than those with RGB layouts though.

As you can see, the green subpixel is rather long and thin, while the blue subpixel is of the same length but thicker. Red subpixels appear rounder and is shorter than the other two subpixels.

Input Features
The input features in the Galaxy S III are built-in accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, multi-touch input method, touch-sensitive controls with rotating icons, proximity sensor, gyroscope sensor, barometer, Swype text input and an RGB light sensor.

Memory
The memory found in the Smartphone is 1GB RAM and 16 GB storage capacity (optional 16/32/64G) with a microSD card slot giving an extra 32GB support.

Operating system
The initial launch of the Galaxy S3 features the Android OS 4.0 (ICS) with a layer of the usual TouchWiz 4.0 UI.

WLAN/Bluetooth/USB
The Smartphone has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, TV-out, USB-on-the-go and NFC support. WIFI is incredibly fast and the range very very good. Also, setting up the WIFI link after shutdown or recovering from sleep mode takes merely 2 seconds. So I have no significant enough problems to report really.
