Replacing Thermal Paste
Replacing Thermal Paste & Thermal Effect
We disassemble the cards to check them out and show you what it under the hood, as such afterward we also always have to replace the default thermal insulation material (TIM) applied to the GPU. Before anyone asks, we obviously always do that after all tests are finished. A question from you guys often is this one, does replacing TIM have an effect?
We apply a Noctua NT-H2 compound, reassemble the card and run our heat up sequence.
Above the measurement with default thermal paste applied, we max out at 67 Degrees C
Above the measurement with the thermal paste replaced, we max out at the very same 67 Degrees C
