Info & tech specs

The MSI Vigor GK71 Sonic is a full-sized keyboard that is designed to appeal to RGB lighting enthusiasts. The keyboard features pudding keycaps, which are designed to showcase RGB lighting in a bright and colourful manner. The clear bottom half of the keycaps allows for the lighting to shine through, creating a dazzling effect. However, the design may reduce the light that shines through the top of the keys.

In terms of build quality, the GK71 Sonic has a solid plastic frame topped with an aluminium plate, which gives the keyboard a premium look and feel. The metal surface also provides added durability, and the keyboard includes convenient features such as dedicated media controls, a kickstand, and cable routing.

The GK71 Sonic by MSI features keycaps that have been a highlight for this model. After using the keyboard for writing and gaming purposes, the clear caps proved to be comfortable to touch. The mixture of plastics resulted in a well-balanced weight distribution that made typing a smooth experience.

MSI's Sonic Blue switches, in partnership with Kailh, were designed to reduce the actuation force required for a keystroke, resulting in effortless typing. While the switches didn't necessarily reduce fatigue during long gaming sessions, they contributed to the smooth typing experience.

MSI Vigor GK50 Low Profile TKL keyboard review
The MSI Vigor GK50 Low Profile TKL keyboard is the one we’re reviewing today. Another week, another MSI keyboard (previously, it was the Vigor GK71 Sonic). This time around, a TKL version of the model has been available for some time on the market. The GK50 Low Profile is the name of it. So what are the differences here? As you’d probably know by yourself, mainly it’s the lack of the numeric part of the keyboard. Tenkeyless form factor provides a wider and larger space for your mouse swipes for the ideal gaming setup.

MSI Vigor GK71 Sonic keyboard review
The MSI Vigor GK71 Sonic keyboard is the one we’re reviewing today. This is not the first time we got this manufacturer’s peripheral, as, for example, the GK80 was checked almost four years ago. . Ok, but what the new one has to offer? The first thing is the MSI SONIC RED switches. It’s a result of a close collaboration between Kailh and MSI. These linear switches are designed to provide seamless and instantaneous responses, minimizing finger fatigue and enhancing comfort & ergonomics during gaming sessions
