The Z390 motherboard will get you six SATA 6 Gb/s storage ports. Combined in here is are M.2 PCI Express slots using x4 PCIe lanes, thus 32 GB/sec of performance. There are plenty of and 3.1 ports available through internal motherboard connectors including USB 3.1 Gen 2 would be the fastest 10 Gbps connectors.

Here we can see the four DIMM slots which offer support for dual-channel DDR4 memory up to an advertised 4500 MHz (OC). We recommend a 2667 MHz kit or faster. Most if not all motherboard partners offer 'XMP' support.

The Realtek ALC 1220 codec is housed for your audio and is enhanced by an ESS DAC & Nahimic.  The overall looks have improved quite a lot though, look at the heatsink design. The VRM area is totally covered as well. That looks good.

It is a bit hard to see on the above photo, but to your right of the CPU socket and chipset heatsink you can see the M.2 slots. NVMe M.2 SSDs are really fast on this platform as our results will show.  Only one has the M.2 shield frozr heatsink though, that's a bit of a bummer. Keep in mind. The secondary M.2 slots, U.2 port, and SATA ports all share the same bandwidth
