MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti Gaming OC Review -
Product Showcase
The GeForce GTX 980 Ti Gaming OC editions are almost 11 Inches in length which is roughly 29 cm so it should fit comfortably in pretty much any decent sized chassis.
At the top of the card you can see the two 8-pin power headers. That's 150 each + 75 Watt over the PCI-Express slot = 375 Watt. Plenty for a card rated at 250 Watt we feel. And yes, there is plenty overclocking potential left.
As you can see the backplate protects the backside, it has plenty of meshes and openings so this actually is a well designed backplate. It is also roughly 2mm away from the PCB for the backside to be able to breathe.
Overall a terrific looking card, high performance, good cooling and plenty of display outputs. You can game with up to 4 monitors at any one time using a combination of the various display outputs. Recommended is to use the Display-Ports for three displays for best compatibility.
If the card is in IDLE (desktop mode) the fans will stop spinning and it becomes an passively cooled product. Up-to roughly 60 degrees C the card remains passively cooled. And once your fans spin up, you'll still have a hard time actually hearing this card. It's pretty silent.
