SSD Operating Temperatures

Temperature Measurements

During our test benchmarks stress tests with a high-stress workload, we monitor the SSD temperature. The peak stress temperature measured hovers at roughly 70 Degrees, which is not bad considering the performance level and the fact that this SSD has no heatsink.

Thermal throttling

We noticed that after copying forth and back roughly 200 GB (yeah not a typo) the SSD started to overheat, as it has no heatsink, it will then thermally throttle down significantly. However, if you place it under a heatsink as supplied by your motherboard, this is a non-issue.
