Colorful aesthetics on a nice performance 32 GB memory kit

We review new HyperX new Predator DDR4 RGB 32GB 2933 MHz (quad/dual-channel) from HyperX. At 2999 MHz, not the fastest, but this is a 32GB kit that can be tweaked over 3200 MHz easily. It's pretty cool with a new configurable RGB implementation and runs XMP 2.0 memory profiles on Intel platforms as well. Join us as we review not some nice bars of memory, it's fitted with a new style and design as well.

The new RGB series is hip and trendy alright, it increases the price of your average memory kit. Ergo this round HyperX figured, let's just go for a nice 2933 MHz kit. On the Intel platform, the performance hit or benefit will not be that big, while in return you receive a little more RGB bling. And with memory prices still being sky-high that might be a very plausible idea, right? Grab some awesome memory, give it a black PCB and apply a notch of RGB and a cool heat spreader. The memory has Infrared Sync technology, this technology creates a new way to experience RGB lighting. HyperX has designed IR communication channels onto each memory module, allowing multiple modules to sync LED lighting and produce an exceptional color and pattern display, allowing gamers and overclockers to further personalize their gaming visual experience and customize their PCs and system builds. The memory is optimized for Intel’s latest platform and is available as 8GB single modules and in kits of two or four with 16GB and 32GB capacities. It is compatible with lighting control software from a range of motherboard vendors including ASUS Aura Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, and MSI Mystic Light Sync.

Proper good memory, with more 'normal' latency timings, yet available in many clock frequencies. For our test kit, HyperX supplied a dual/quad channel (4xDIMM) DDR4 kit rated at 2933 MHz with a modest CL15. They will offer these kits starting at this frequency running up-to DDR4-2933, 3200, 3600 in 2x8 and 4x8 configurations combinations to address dual and quad-channel memory configurations with CAS latencies rated to 15, 17, 19. DDR4 memory modules, you can choose from plenty and honestly, the green colored low price Kingston Value memory, for example, works absolutely fine as well. Then there are regular mainstream DIMMs, then step it up a little and, say, high-frequency memory is a hint faster and often cooler looking inside your PC with the fancy designs and heat-spreaders. Being Ballistix these DIMMs will all receive a lifetime warranty as well as being XMP 2.0 compatible, enabled with a simple XMP profile in your BIOS.

This memory is optimized for Intel platforms on Z170/Z270/X370 and X99/X299, obviously with four 4GB DIMMs, ideal for a dual and quad-channel setup.
