Fractal Design Ion+ 2 Platinum 860W PSU Review - Product Showcase

Product Showcase

As always we start with the simple stuff, the packaging so you know what to look for in the stores. The PSU inside is packaged nicely and protected in a carton. The Ion 2 Platinum is an update to its predecessor, with the main changes being an increase in power efficiency, design, noise levels, and yeah cabling.

The PSU is well protected and the modular cables can be found in the separate compartments as well. Next to cabling, you will also receive screws, tie-wraps, velcro cable binders

The PSU breathes this stylish matte dark finish with a black theme. The PSU is ready for all current CPU & GPU generations and offers high capacity on its single or one single +12V rails which is great for multi-GPU graphics solutions or really high-end graphics cards (if still would be a thing). But that's a lot of cables available.

The ION+ 2 860W power supply is sandwiched between two large pieces of black foam, much like in previous models.

In addition to the ION+ 2 860W power supply unit (which is also wrapped in a cloth cover), its modular cables (which are also wrapped in a cloth pouch), and its power cord, you will also receive three cable straps, four mounting screws, a user guide, and instructions on what to do if you receive a defective unit
