EK Classic RGB P240 review -
Product Showcase
Here we have the Vardar F4 RGB 120 mm high static pressure fans. You get three of these, all 120 mm and PWM based as stated. Overall these are good fans regulated by your motherboard CPU FAN header or fan controller. We'll show the installation of all components on the next few pages though.
We'll be mounting the fans towards the radiator and then hook them up towards the splitter cable, so we can make use of just one PWM regulated header from your motherboard. Included as well are all fittings (10/13 (3/8'' - 1/2'') - G1/4 Nickel which we'll mount on the CPU cooling block, the radiator and the coolant reservoir.
Here we have the cooling block bottom side, it is machined with a mirror finish. Now check that reflection sticker -- that's what we call a mirror lapped finish. As the results will show, the performance really is good as you'll find out soon enough.
One of the more expensive units in the kit is the inclusion of a EK-XRES 140 SPC PWM Classic RGB - Plexi (a reservoir incl. . pump). Also included is a Pump Bracket, this will help us mount the unit vertically in the chassis. The pump can be PWM regulated and is silent. Once you cram over 50% voltage in it, however, could even function as a pond with a fountain, it is that powerful. Obviously, the fans, water-block and reservoir all have RGB cables. Included is a y-splitter cable so you could leaks all four cables towards one RGB12V jack on the motherboard (or controller).
EK has released a liquid cooling kit consisting out of all components needed to assemble and design your own liquid cooling loop. In this review we will build a P240 Classic RGB and test this kit. ...
