SATA ports -- ECS equipped the board with a good four SATA3 ports and one M.2 PCI-E SSD slot. Looks weird as they are facing upwards.
At least they do not block graphics cards. it is a little on the small side, 4 connectors I mean.

The Z97 has a 6 Phase Digital Power Design. The board comes with diagnostic LEDs and power/reset buttons. You will get four DIMM slots that offer support for dual-channel DDR3 memory up to even 3000 MHz (OC). You can install a maximum of 32 GB in total. XMP is supported.
To the rear you can see a Diagnostic post LED, it will display the status/post code.
