Final words and conclusion

We stated several times already that for the money, the combination of a AMD Llano APU like the A8-3850 and the A75 motherboard series that you get value for money. Overall the APU is not the most powerful processor, but the graphics engine leaves Intel far behind. next to that the embedded chipset offers great features. Then paired with A75 you reap the benefits of a fast infrastructure (albeit mediocre processor performance). You get USB 3.0, multiple SATA3 ports and HDMI. If you save a little here and there you can build yourself a fully fetched PC for under 300 EUR, though I am pushing it here a little.

  ECS A75F-A Motherboard review

ECS did a pretty nice job with the A75F-A, for roughly 100 EUR you reap all the benefits that A75 has to offer and then a little extra. The three PCI slots for example a a nice touch not to mention the two PCI Express x16 slots (one is x4 really) and two PCI Express x1 slots.
Sum up all features together with a PS/2 port, four USB 2.0 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, 7.1-channel audio with optical S/PDIF out, a pair of USB 3.0 ports for the money you will get a lot of motherboard alright.

The motherboard also comes with an uEFI BIOS, meaning you can select BIOS settings mouse driven in a graphical user interface. The implementation is a little so-so and sluggish. Then again, it does work and it's definitely not the worst implementation I have seen to date.

What about overclocking you wonder? Remember, don't expect any real overclock potential with the Llano processors, its the nature of the beast. You'll end up in a maze of issues.

But hardware wise, this is the stuff where ECS shines, nice design, great features, solid baseline performance and a good price.guru3d-recommended_150px.jpg

So if you are in the market for a simple PC to internet on, do a little work, play a simple game, listen to music on... then it won't get much better then this. Recommended, if this is what your requirements for a PC are of course.
