The Cougar 700K EVO arrives in a cardboard box that is mostly black. On the front, you can see the keyboard’s design and lighting. On the back, there is information about features like Cherry MX switches, USB pass-through or brushed- aluminum structure, but we won’t repeat all of this, as it was already mentioned on the previous page.

Inside, we find the keyboard protected by a foam frame (there is even a piece of it on the lid of the box). It served its purpose very well!
Inside, next to the keyboard and wrist rest shown above, you’ll find:

  • A user manual
  • Cougar stickers

Unfortunately, there’s no extraction clamp for the keys, nor any alternative keycaps (for WASD for example).

The Cougar 700K EVO’s frame is made of quality brushed aluminum with dimensions of 250(L) X 487(W) X 40(H) mm, and weight of 1.3 kg. There’s also some plastic; you can’t avoid it (but you can decrease the amount). The EVO is sleek and shaped differently than most keyboards on the market. The quality is great,  and it’s finished to an excellent standard. The keycaps are made of ABS (not a surprise in this budget) so they’re not the most durable (unlike PBT).

The detachable wrist rest is covered with leatherette and it’s super comfortable. It should do its job well most of the time. It’s hard to say what it will be like during long gaming sessions in the summer, as we tested it during the winter.

There are three “feet” on it, to prevent the whole unit from moving.
