Meet the Skylake Core i5 6600K processor. Looking familiar alright, processor package size wise. The processor is an Intel engineering sample showing the code-name QJEC.
These processors are housed in the LGA 1151 socket package. The good news is that your processor coolers will all fit perfectly on this CPU, the bad news is you'll need to purchase a compatible series 100 motherboard like Z170 for Skylake processors.
For our review we will be pairing the Core i5-6600K processor with an Asrock Z170 motherboard. Intel does not manufacture reference motherboards anymore for the consumer market.
