Cooler Master MA612 Stealth ARGB and MA624 Stealth air cooler review

Double invasion of Stealthy Cooler Masters?

Today, we review two air coolers from Cooler Master: MasterAir MA624 Stealth and MA612 Stealth ARGB. Usually, we had a chance to check the AIO solutions from them, so now it’s a good opportunity to study what we can achieve more standardly. This will also be a nice occasion to present two types of cooling architecture, as the MA612 Stealth ARGB is a single-tower, and MA624 Stealth is a dual-tower. The first is aimed at the RGB lovers, the second – not a contradicting attitude again. Like in the Scythe Mugen 5  review – we’ll check the cooling capacity of both products. Will they handle the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X and Intel Core i9 10850K? Yes, we like to remind you that now we’re using the Comet Lake processor to check the coolers (previously, the Intel Core i9 9900K).

The Cooler Master MA612 Stealth ARGB has two 120 SickleFlow ARGB fans with a fan speed ranging between 650 and 1800 rpm. The maximum airflow is 62 CFM. The noise levels do not exceed 27 dBA (but you should remember that almost all manufacturers measure this with their methodology, so you can’t make direct comparisons).

For the Cooler Master MA624 Stealth, we got a mix of two 140 mm and 120 for better RAM compatibility. The smaller fan provides a 650-1800 rpm range, and the 140 mm fan has 650-1400 rpm. For a 120 mm, it’s again 62 CFM airflow and noise level of 27 dBA; for the 140 mm version, it’s 67 CFM and 27 dBA. Regarding the dimensions, the single tower cooler is 129 x 112.2 x 158 mm / 5 x 4.4 x 6.2 inch (LxWxH), dual tower version is bigger with 144.9 x 153.2 x 160 mm / 5.7 x 6 x 6.3 inch (LxWxH). Both coolers offer six heat pipes on this cooler. The MA 612 Stealth ARGB provided excellent RAM compatibility; for the bigger “brother,” it’s 40 mm of space for the memory if the 120 mm fan is installed instead of the second 140 mm version. If you leave that one, the cooler’s height would increase to 173.9 mm, which is too much for many chassis. If only one 140 mm fan is used, there is an option to install up to 70 mm RAM. The Cooler Master MA612 Stealth ARGB and MA624 Stealth are compatible with the following CPU sockets:

  • AMD – AM4/AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2/FM2+/FM2/FM1
  • Intel – LGA2066/2011-v3/2011/1200/1151/1150/1155/1156/775

The total weight of a single tower cooler is around 1.2 kg.

The dual-tower variant is 1.62 kg (sic!). As mentioned before – for the MA624 Stealth - you won’t find any RGB here, only a nice design, black all the way (including the top cover). For the MA612 Stealth ARGB – the fans have some lighting. It should be interesting to see how it performs against other air coolers, including the flagship Noctua NH-D15 and AIOs. As mentioned earlier, we’ll check that on both AMD (Ryzen 7 3700X) and Intel (now it’s Core i9 10850K) platforms. One new thing will be that we'll check the temperatures with a normalized noise level. The price for MA612 is about 90 EUR, for the MA624 it’s 99.9 EUR. Yeah, it sounds steep at the first look. But, will it be worth it? Let’s not forget that the warranty period is five years, which is very nice compared to other offers in the market. So let’s head to the specs/feature page, shall we?
