And here it is powered on, the default is RED for the LEDs. As you can see already, heat travels mostly upwards, there is merely a small vent at the front side bracket, so all warm air will be dumped inside the chassis. As we always state, chassis ventilation not just a must, with this design it's a necessity. We'll look a bit closer at that in our thermal imaging chapter though.

All AIB premium cards are on the heavy side alright. This is due to added cooling. The radiator surface area has increased, bringing some extra weight. But yes that's 1.5 kg right here. The card does not bend though, it has been reinforced, but surely it will apply lots of stress to the PCIe slot, please do opt a motherboard with PCIe slot metal reinforcement.

Size then, that's roughly 31 cm / 12,2 inches of graphics card right there. Please always do make sure that the card physically fits inside your chassis as it is a bit lengthy.

The LEDs embedded in this graphics card can be controlled with the Aura engine software utility available from ASUS. These top logo + rear ROG logo + frontside LEDs are RGB configurable with a few animations as well.

Check out the backside where there is a thick sturdy metal back-plate. It is nice to see some gaps, I would have liked to see a little more mesh at the GPU area though. A very nice but familiar looking product with the metal accents and dark. Taste, of course, differs per person though.
