The 6600 series in the past have been located in entry-level towards the mainstream, typically that 150~200 USD domain. How times have changed eh? On August 10th, the RX 6600 XT will be released. 7nm fabbed Navi 23 GPU-based graphics cards are built with a maximum of 8 GB of RAM gddr6 and are tied to a somewhat limited 128-bit memory interface. The memory volume will be 8 GB GDDR6, buffered by a 32 MB Infinity Cache. The series card is expected to perform ±5% of the RX 5700 XT and the GTX 1080 Ti, which could make it an impressive card at 1080p, or at 1440p with FSR. The RX 6600 XT contains 2048 stream processors while unannounced RX 6600 we feel will get 1792 stream processors. Several companies have mentioned their own card variations and configurations. Below we plotted the main specifications for you to get a grasp on what to expect.
The Radeon RX 6600 XT and also a Radeon RX 6600 already appeared several times earlier this year in May, in fact in China, these graphics cards have already been installed, as screenshots from GPU-Z have proven. Shortly afterward, a Radeon RX 6600 XT was also pictured in Asia. This comes from PC-Partner who produces graphics cards for Sapphire in China, among other things. While the 6600 itself is not announced, we carefully added some specifications in-to the chart.
NAVI 23
The "Navi 23 XT" chip is not a new chip, and in fact is already in use as the Radeon RX 6600M graphics for notebooks, which were presented together with the Radeon RX 6800M and 6700M graphics solutions for laptops around several weeks ago. Most cards will be based on a dual-slot dual-fan cooler, it has a single 8-pin PCI-Express graphics connector that allows maximum power consumption of 225 watts. The Radeon RX 6600 XT comes with 2048 instead of 2560 stream processors or shader units and has to be content with 8 instead of 12 GB GDDR6 on a memory interface reduced from 192 to 128 bits.
AMD will initially launch the 6600 XT cards first, with the 6600 to follow later. On August 10th we'll showcase the product in a review with availability to follow shortly thereafter.
A reference model will not be released for the Radeon RX 6600 XT, several models will be released from each vendor such as ASRock, ASUS, BIOSTAR, GIGABYTE, MSI, PowerColor, SAPPHIRE, XFX. Finished PCs with GPUs are expected to be released by Acer, DELL, HP, etc. after August
