Google and Motorola building 'X Phone' and tablet

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Google is taking its smartphone fate into its own hands, working with Motorola to build its own device known internally as the 'X Phone.' Due sometime next year, the new device is said to not replace the work Google-owned Motorola is pursuing with its line of Droid devices, but to serve as another product altogether - and that after the X Phone is complete, a so-called 'X Tablet' will be coming up next.

Mozilla to continue 64-bit Firefox development for Windows

Earlier on we heard likewise, but Mozilla engineering manager Benjamin Smedberg announced that there's been a change of plan regarding the foundation's move to kill of the 64-bit version of Firefox. Due to negative feedback on the Internet, Mozilla decided to continue building 64-bit nightly builds, but these builds will not be officially supported. All users of the 64-bit nightlies will be migrated to 32-bit in the near future, and will need to download the 64-bit version if they want to keep using it after the migration point.

Slender: The Arrival official teaser trailer

Slender's sequel, titled Slender: The Arrival, has gotten its first teaser trailer. The visuals are vastly improved over the original Slender, and it looks like there may be at least one new character. Slender: The Arrival is begin developed by Blue Isle Studios, and is planned for release early next year.

Scythe unveiled another one of its upcoming mid-tower PC case, the Case by Case 3. This steel case supports for both micro-ATX and ATX motherboards, and features a front-placed I/O panel with 2x USB 3.0 and 2x audio ports, 2x USB 2.0 ports on the side (both sides), four 5.25-inch external drive bays, two 3.5-inch external drive bays, three 2.5-inch internal shadow bays and has two fans (1x 120mm blue LED fan – front, 1x 120mm fan – rear).

Intel likely to figure a way to keep LGA design for CPUs

Commenting on Intel's reported plans of abandoning CPU socket designs and changing to directly soldered CPUs after two years, Asustek Computer vice president and general manager of motherboard/desktop business Joe Hsieh has said that the issue will not be as bad as people think, and Intel is likely to adopt a strategy to allow the both methods to coexist.
