Gigabyte motherboard review

The board comes with four DIMM slots supporting dual-channel DDR3 memory up-to 1333 MHz JEDEC and then limited support up-to 2200+MHz overclocked and tweaked. We see a nice count of seven SATA-2 ports. Though not blocking dual-slot graphics they unfortunately are pointing upwards. We prefer the 90-degree angle connector so much more.

The layout is fine and everything is positioned in a fairly logical fashion. As you can see, the H57 PCH is cooled passively with a small heatsink.

The board is Crossfire compatible with two physical x16 slots, unfortunately the second slot support a maximum of x4 PCIe lanes only, so we can not recommend this motherboard for high-end crossfire. Other than that, two PCI slots. Oh and check out the four additional USB headers, plenty of connectivity there should your require it. We also spot color coded front panel headers and next to that the PCB denotes the connectors properly.

Small detail .. the UD3 design ensures quality components. Good capacitors and solid core chokes that catch the eye alright.

So yes, overall nice little motherboard alright. Very feature rich and versatile.
