Corsair Gaming K95 RGB PLATINUM
Going full circle with Corsair's finest keyboard

Corsair has released the K95 RGB Platinum edition mechanical keyboard with optional Cherry MX Brown or speed switches. Combined with updated CUE software and a nice RGB overhaul this keyboard has evolved to what you guys require in the year 2017, for the true hardcore and DIY PC gamer afficionado. The K95 RGB Platinum is the new Corsair flagship keyboard being even more refined, it offers fantastic looks and is now a 100% programmable keyboard with six added programmable G keys.

Corsair Gaming released the new keyboard but pretty much updated everything, aesthetically they try to stay true and close to their last-gen gaming keyboards' feel and design. Looking at the new K95 you immediately recognize that 'similar' Corsair keyboard DNA so to say.

Our K95 RGB PLATINUM comes fitted with all per-key RGB LEDs and the fastest Cherry MX switches on the globe. K95 RGB PLATINUM is the successor to the regular K95 and shares the DNA of the RGB models in terms of the overall basis and concept. It expanded on the RGB design though with a new subtle RGB LED strip located at the backside of the unit that you might recognise from the Corsair MM800 RGB Polaris mouse pad. If you choose the particular model, it adds a new type of switch called the MX SPEED-switch. Simply put, the actuation point (the space pressing a key downwards) on these linear switches is shorter than on Cherry MX Reds (1.2mm compared to 2mm respectively). Now realistically you’re looking at an extremely small change here switch-to-switch, on average, from Cherry Reds to the new fast ones. In fact they share the same 45g actuation force, too. That said, a Cherry MX Brown version is available as well. It's not just all about the RGB LEDs and faster switches though, the keyboard once again comes in excellent looking black anodized aluminum... it, yeah -- looks incredible.

The specs overall remain as good and fairly similar as they include a 1000Hz polling rate, 100% anti-ghosting, media keys and USB pass-through on the rear remain too. The K95 RGB is a full n-key rollover keyboard. Black anodized aluminum is what you will be looking at, hey, Corsair just gets it. Make no mistake though, the K95 RGB is a mechanical RTS and FPS gaming keyboard. Every key is mechanical, using Cherry MX key-switches and all keys have per-key adjustable back-lighting, using RGB LEDs, so that you can customize which keys are lit and assign colors and animations to them.

Being the K95 you will also receive a full-sized wrist rest, it has been updated with a new magnetic lining. You can take it out, turn it around. Anyway, we'll show you that. Also, this K95 model keyboard comes with six G keys that are fully macro programmable (much like any key or key combination on this keyboard).

The K95 RGB Platinum is a bit of a beast, Corsair calls it their flagship keyboard. And just looking at it already creates a bit of awe. Have a peek at the video and then let's dive into the full review.
