Intel has officially disclosed its client CPU roadmap for the years 2024-2025, encompassing Arrow Lake, Lunar Lake, and Panther Lake. Following Intel's predefined timeline, Panther Lake CPU testing is set to commence in Q1 2024. As a leading CPU manufacturer, Intel has unveiled its schedule for the next-generation client CPUs. Specifically, Meteor Lake, utilizing the Intel 4 process, is scheduled for release on December 14th.

Pat Gelsinger, in an Innovation keynote, detailed this two-year consumer-focused strategy, introducing CPU series such as Meteor, Arrow, Lunar, and Panther Lake.

Lunar Lake is presented as the forthcoming low-power architecture, featuring cutting-edge generative AI software based on deep learning. Following Lunar Lake is Arrow Lake, continuing the Core Ultra series. Designed using the Intel 20A process, Arrow Lake caters to both desktop and mobile CPU sectors, emphasizing power and performance optimization. Lunar Lake's low-power architectural design notably enhances AI acceleration capabilities. While comprehensive specifications remain undisclosed, this generation, like Meteor Lake, is primarily targeted at laptop devices.

Beyond Lunar Lake, Arrow Lake is expected to be released in 2024. Unlike Meteor Lake and Lunar Lake, Arrow Lake processors serve both laptop and desktop platforms. During the aforementioned keynote, Pat Gelsinger presented newly manufactured Arrow Lake chips produced on the 20A node.

Gelsinger acknowledged the existence of Panther Lake, confirming earlier speculations. With significant development advancements, preliminary production of Panther Lake is slated for Q1 2024, with an official launch in 2025. Manufactured through the 18A process, Panther Lake marks the fifth manufacturing process Intel has introduced in four years, succeeding Intel 7, 4, 3, and 20A.

Intel's formal announcement positions Panther Lake for production within their fabrication units by Q1 2024. Notably, Panther Lake, as Intel's inaugural 18A client CPU series, is expected to incorporate the Cougar Cove P-Cores. While intricate details remain undisclosed, Panther Lake aims to serve both desktop and mobile sectors, adopting the LGA-1851 socket, consistent with Arrow Lake's desktop designs.
