I would try aquiring the same drive and swapping the logic board, with any luck you'd be able to retrieve the data.

LOL I purposely bought oldest WD: WD40EZRZ (2017!!), like 3 months ago when my stupid external Seagate Backup 4TB malfunctioned.
Tried to repair it, but killed it with my big fat clumsy Les Grossman hands. Like 0.4 secs after disassembling it.
With all this wd smr bruhaha somehow I assumed my EZRZ is Red SMR; Turns out it's BLUEo_O CMR.
5 years warranty i luv it 😀 would buy again 😀 😛
