On my Palit RTX 3090 GamingPro I use KPE XOC BIOS which pulls something similar in region of 600-660W in Port Royal, in rendering it pulls 500W quite easily and in games 600-660W its quite easy hahaha and temperatures are in 33-36 °C in most of the cases, highest temperatures I have seen 38°C and highest VRAM and hot spot temperatures usually are around 60°C, not seen higher temperatures than 62°C on VRAM and OC with such BIOS is 2130-2145MHz in RT games and 2160-2175MHz in raster games, anything above that will crash, with stock 370W or KFA2 390W BIOS it would struggle hit in power limited games 2.0GHz, usually will bounce in 1965-1980MHz range with some spikes to 2010-2025MHz
moving to 2130mhz from 1980 is +150 on 1980, is like 7.5% extra performance that at best will give you 7.5% extra fps. so from 100 to 108 or from 60 to 65. Is that and advantage anywhere? Does it really justify even bothering with it?

Undying:

That power usage lol, im surprised no one is making fun of it. If amd card was pulling 600W from the wall everyone would go brmm brmm...
I guess you missed the vbios mod part that takes it way beyond its normal power limits.

You need to ask yourself if its worth it, personally I have tried every BIOS on my RTX 3090 and if its worth it, I would say yes In Control for example my RTX 3090 with KFA2 390W BIOS would bounce from 1965-1980MHz like crazy and in some instances clocks would be in 2010-2025MHz as max, right now with KPE XOC BIOS clocks are staying at 2130-2145MHz all the time and temperatures are still great and no difference between the BIOS What advantage have this BIOS or any XOC BIOS, better scores hahaha and few more FPS, with 390W BIOS my Port Royal scores are in 14270 range and with XOC BIOS are in 15077 range Sadly 2*8-pin GPU are power limited and I'm not rhe best with soldering, if I wouldn't be scared of soldering then I already will shunt my RTX 3090 Hope this helps Thanks, Jura

In that video they used KPE XOC BIOS not their own NDA XOC BIOS which is bit sad Hope this helps Thanks, Jura

This likely would have been perf limited on the gpu memory temp side holding the gpu back from consuming or making use of any of that lovely high power limit. If you keep the temps under 70c and the memory under 100 then I'm pretty certain they would have had an epic overclock for the same exact wattage or less. a 360 double thick rad and full cover block and backplate cooling would be the minimum for going over 500w purely because the memory temps stop the card doing much more than stock.

I think only a well off person likes to OC gpus. When i buy a gpu i want it to last forever or till it no longer can perform a certain fps in modern games. I'm waiting for 3080Ti and i'll finally be able to upgrade from this GTX980 G1 and AMD2600X to a 5900X if i can get one and a high end gfx card. My problem is i don't actually like nVidias 3000 series so far. I'd take a 3070Ti or 3080Ti though even if the etailers are acting like scalpers at the moment. I finally get the money to buy a once in a lifetime PC and i'm unable to get it. It was gonna cost about 3 grand but right now it's over 4 grand for the same items. Sad times for upgraders. I promised my son a PS5 too but haven't found any at a decent price or in stock. An F*** going to Ebay and dealing with con men and scalpers.

Level of ability & confidence figures too. Long before I was earning I used to mod cards/mobos etc to get high end performance for less £. It was especially fun while a student.
