@FULMTL, Perhaps, even if they can't get someone to design a PSU with a higher output in that form factor I still don't see the problem. If you look at guru3d's review of the titan, his full system wattage pull is measured at 372 watts at the wall socket ... a 400-450w psu should provide sufficient power for the box pictured .

The HDD doesn't look cooled. A fan near/on it makes the difference between 65C and 25C. At least it has for every HDD I've had up to 4TB.
Good point, in my experience, HDD's don't need cooling if kept away some distance from other heat source, but once close enough to have some heat buildup, they can suddenly go up to 60C indeed.

This is a 2.5" notebook HDD, they're designed for inclosed environments with little to no airflow. Most laptop designs have no airflow over the HDD. I've disassembled probably 10-20 different laptop models over the past several years mostly lenovo and dell business line notebooks and none of them have any airflow over the hard drives. Also for example the Xbox 360 hard drive clam shell (holds a 2.5" SATA hdd) is a completely enclosed shell with only a few small slits in the top to let heat out. This is not an issue.

We're aware that it's a 2.5" drive, we can see, and that it typically isn't an issue leaving it without any cooling, but overall it does decrease its lifespan. It's a cheapass move not to have it cooled considering what a huge temperature difference it makes. It's almost the same 40C difference on a 2.5" drive based on what I've seen.

I'm not convinced about this as I have no idea who their target audience is. I mean the parts are going to cost the same if not more than a normal DIY build with restrictions on the components you can use. So that sort of rules out the console crowd as I don't mind dropping a good chunk of dough on a PC but my friends will find paying for a PS4 or XBONE will be quite a cost already and the cards alone cost the same as a new console. PC enthusiasts already have the gear for gaming and will most likely just build their own and put the Steam OS on there.
