Dear Hilbert,
Each day I visit at least three sites: Guru3d.com, tweakers.net and hardware.info (ok and sometime anandtech). Because I very much like the way you guys, review new products, write articles etc etc but each in your own way. Since 1 year I use an adblocker and built this in the router. There isn't a way that I can whitelist in this matter.
I have done this because because I don't like the way some sites use the information of people.
My advice learn from others and start a membership, or a donation system of some kind. I am gladly to donate, because I very much like your site!

I've whitelisted G3D since creating my account. Hope more people understand how important it is for the sites they regularly visit to grow, and using adblock will just halt that.
Btw Boss, why not setup up a subscription or donate tag for forum members ? Just a different feature not something so significant that donators can get or just a plain donate button is fine. I would definitely donate monthly if need be.

You are the only news site I am willing to donate/pay membership for. Since I truly believe that ads destroy everything and have no real purpose as I have yet to meet a person who clicks on adds willingly and not just by chance. Am quite sure we are close to the days when internet ads will be worth close to nothing (hopefully) so I will not whitelist any site and I hope you understand that. Please add a donate button, or a membership possibility and I'll be happy to pay.

I had earlier posted a thread on a performance test of 10 popular adblockers in the software section. Now I understand why it was removed. Sorry Hilbert, was unaware of how serious an impact these have on your site. Will make an exception for G3D.

Whitelisted !! which i do for barely no one but this site is too good to be left to become victim of these nasty ads on the web.
When i say nasty i mean downright infuriating, ads like "Hi my name is sh!t face & this year i became a millionaire" its just a scam pure & simple. The internet is just a mass haven for scamming, even with ABP on some still get thru.
One really bad pop-up is the police ransom-ware one, my neighbor actually paid the money then rang the police after his PC still wasn't working LOL !! they must have been pissing themselves laughing. He turned up on the door very red faced asking for help, which i did 🙂
So yea whitelist for Guru3d and a donate vip status sort of thing sounds good to me.

Alright, whitelisted. I can understand the reality of your problem.
I hope I can also keep this whitelisted. In the past some sites I visit have also asked for the same thing, but when I disabled Adblock there, the pages suddenly took 5-10 seconds to load because the load order apparently is such that the ads must absolutely finish loading before the actual content of the page is shown. Thus I was stuck waiting for ads to load from some ****ty 56k dial-up servers. With ads blocked the pages loaded immediately. I hope it won't ever be like that over here! It would make reading multi-page reviews insufferable.

I don't get any ads but I haven't got an ad blocker installed. I'm using IE.
If I use Firefox, I get ads but not IE. Any ideas?

Sorry, forgot about having uBO enabled for all sites. For the last 5+ years on my Win7 install I've had G3D white-listed, but since doing a clean install of Win10 I forgot.
White-listed as of now. Let's keep this awesome community going.

agree that ads will be a huge issue in the future for free website...
most of the time ads from google are really painfull, and intrusive:
So people start to use adblock... then get browser without cookie with all the problem that it cause... then use proxy and blacklist most google service.
the 1st that will fall is sadly be free website... but at the end it is the net that is rotten because some few actor of the net (google and social networks as chief of the list) doesn't care about the user and don't make effort.
OK that was my angry post of the day...
i agree with the donation box, but after few time: will it be enough donation?
