Well the game is nvidia sponsored... and no this is not gpu related, but i wouldn't put it beyond nvidia at all just wanting amd to look bad all around.

Interesting - but just points to the game really needing more development time before being launched.

I know no one is forcing me to do it, that's why I'm not. You're missing the entire point. Why would someone need to do this after paying $60 for a game that's been in development for nearly 8 years? If I wanted to frack with the executable I would, but I don't want to. Because this game is gonna have a crap load of updates and I don't want to keep cutting and pasting files.
It should be fixed in future updates. Until then you have an option to fix it yourself. It's up to you if you want to do it or not.

I think you need a powerful GPU to see any improvement, RTX 2080 and up. On my 5600X and 1070 Ti there is no difference with the fix. You can see a small bump in performance but i have to drop down to 720p to notice it. CPU load dose go up from about 30 to about 50% though. [youtube=eLpFXsGw7UI]

This was a very obviously intentional choice, even if the game's release state wasn't a clown fiesta's dumpster fire, this check in the exe to disable SMT usage on AMD CPUs would have been there regardless. I'm sure they'll have some BS excuse why they did it.

It probably affects lows dramatically even on a weak GPU. Try driving around an area with tons of NPCs around.

@droopy_ro Your Gtx 1070 never gonna be the same, its already old and obsolate for ...Nv. This game incorporate Nvidia sutff and its made lately with new Rtx 3000 in mind and wallet. 🙂 Now its too late and PC/PS4/XBOX gamers pay the price of a rushing product.

Frankly, I don't care for your point. Your response was needlessly hostile towards a simple user tip. Your righteous indignation over it was overblown.

The self genious of your response is what's funny.

You can joke about it, but with their latest shenanigans with hardware unboxed, nvidia basically confirmed that they are every bit as bad as their critics has always suspected.

I doubt this is gonna help any on my Vega 56, since even now my CPU utilization is at 30% and I'm lucky to be getting over 40FPS. Nevertheless, I am definitely going to try it out once I get off work. The dumb thing is, I DO have the money for RX 6800XT - IF ONLY THERE WERE ANY TO BUY!

I said it before and I'll say it again. It's not my job as a consumer to fix something I shouldn't have to. You do this tweak you're gonna screw up all future updates and the integrity of the games installation. I'll pass.
new update will just rewrite it back to default ,nothing to worry about ..

Use this instead, it is not editing exe file, just dll files + it also helps intel cpus, and more functions coming soon, check it is github https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/107 https://github.com/yamashi/PerformanceOverhaulCyberpunk Currently fixed AMD SMT Trampoline calls (both AMD and Intel benefit from this) AVX crash (has to be enabled in preformance_overhaul/config.json) Virtual input ( https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/kb73fr/fix_for_virtual_input_not_working/ ) PoolCPU & PoolGPU allocation > ( https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/kccabx/hey_cd_projekt_red_i_think_you_shipped_the_wrong/ ) Upcoming Memory allocation performance Skip conditions that never fail Probably some pattern conversion to SIMD

Thanks for the share! It seems more future proof (until these get incorporated officially, ofc.).
