IMHO this makes very much sense for Ryzen systems which struggle with speeds when you put more than 2 modules in the banks. So in theory you could go to 64GB by putting two of those into your rig instead of 4x 16GB which would result in lower speeds. On the other hand they miss the 3200MHz marker so they generally clock lower ... @Hilbert Hagedoorn : I found more details: tech specs (CLs named and more) https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/global.semi/file/resource/2018/07/M378A4G43MB1-CTD.pdf Very interesting tech.

I just hope it is priced sensibably. 32gb ram is around $400usd if I am not mistaken.

My 4x 8GB is already above 3200MHz. Before agesa 1.0.0.4 I was at 3066MHz.

I have to say I'm not sad that I went for 4x8GB 3200MHz back when they were not as expansive, already with the intention of carrying them along to at least my next build. Hell, I'm not even running them on 3200MHz and I'm still fine performance wise for gaming... With the prices claimed to drop Samsung and Heynix are now calling to tone down production to up the prices yet again due to shorter supply... and than this. This has to be a business product after all because nobody that doesn't need it would buy something like this for stuff like we use it, like gaming 😀

I would go straigt for the ECC-U-DIMM https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/dram/module/M391A4G43MB1-CTD/ over volt it to 1,35 volt DDR4-2666 CL 15-15-15-35 or overvolt it to 1,55 volt DDR4-2933 CL 14-14-14-34. Just wonder what the price of these sticks is. (put some airflow over it when overclocking).
Have you overclocked ECC memory before?

TR2 + Full banks of these = Perfect Workstation + Bankruptcy 🙄

Yes and since this is ecc U-DIMM with 8+1 it works the same as standard U-DIMM. RDIMM is mostly locked in the bios of the serverboards (CL is often lead open, atleast on EPYC platforms).

I expect prices ~1k. Early adopters tax included.

i think this are more for cheap servers without parity rather then consumers. 32gig per dimm means starting at 64gigs amd we are not there. And we are not getting there because samsung made new dimm. Plus... where is ddr5?
