It makes sense to use oled for laptops , imo. The picture quality will be very good , we are still long way from micro led so this is the best we can get right now . And btw it's funny how even Samsung is starting to go oled .

They've been using AMOLED for the longest time. It only makes sense for them to produce larger displays with OLED seeing how the market wants it.

Hertz are Hertz, response time is response time. Claim that 90Hz OLED equals 120Hz anything else is false. (Unless that something else has over 11ms response time. And that's like some archaic trash.) I wonder how many people forgot about horrid frame to frame transitions with oldest of LCDs. Because I did not 😀

[youtube=x9n8Hz_RLqw] Not quite. 3:29 I know my new phone IPS 60hz isn't as fast as the 60hz AMOLED the former one had. But at 144hz the IPS is more responsive than the 60hz AMOLED.

just look at a 60hz OLED vs 90hz LCD side by side, you'll get your answer its not exactly equal, but it isnt even remotely as stark a comparison as with 60hz LCD

Did you meant 6:29, where he is actually talking Hertz vs Hertz? Because 90Hz OLED has worse motion fluidness than 120Hz anything else. And that's what's wrong on marketing statement. They may have right to say: "OLED has superior image to image transition times..." But when they start making argument on Hz, and user experience. Hz will always be Hz. I can read tiny text while scrolling screen on 240Hz quite fast. Moving at same speed on 120Hz screen and you have troubles. Be it 60Hz, and you get very frustrated and want 240Hz+ screen even if that 60Hz had 0.1ms transition times. Screen can have 0.1ms transition time, but Hz will always be Hz and have its importance which is bigger than transition times. (As long as transitions do not cause 3+ frames to collide with each other.)

Last summer I very briefly had a 15" Gigabyte 4K AMOLED 60Hz laptop, I returned it as the wi-fi perf was awful. But the screen was fantastic. Samsung are one of the top screen makers so it's great they are bringing out a 90Hz OLED, a 17" laptop with this screen with a top mobile GPU could be a sexy device albeit a very expensive one but what adopter device isn't very expensive initially? Bought a Dell XPS 17 instead with a 4K LCD screen & 2060 but don't use it for any gaming.
