Another AMD title that is just a demo no one play LOL I wonder if partnering with AMD was worth it for the studio.

If amd sponsored the game it means it didnt pay off for them not for the game studio. Think ffs before spreading some bs.

Given the incredible gory nature of the game I'm surprised AMD supported the game at all.

Spreading wut? Another title that flop so hard, just like AoTS, Godfall, Dirt 5, FC6, etc... Instead of going full RT effects and save on developer hours for other aspect, like polishing the frametimes...dev team have to optimize for AMD pathetic RT perf...

I dont like game has no dlss. Being amd sponsored should not only have amd tech so i dislike that. Its not like nvidia sponsored games are real gems. Some of them a most broken mess and yeah full rt is the reason. It would not change a thing if nvidia did the sponsorship here. Game still flops.

Once RT is enabled, it makes little difference between single RT effect vs the whole package anyways, game might as well include RTGI (which destroy AMD GPU). games like Metro Exodus Enhanced, witcher 3 next gen show that there is little work to do to implement RTGI and it really look next gen, no reason beside AMD sponsorship to not include RTGI in today games

Well i'm going to go against the trend here. I must be mad, but i'm enjoying it, yes it's on the PS5, but i'm having fun. 😛

So they still haven't patched the stuttery mess? The gameplay loop seems pretty weak, mostly melee fighting a bunch of a shitty space zombies with an NES style dodge system. Maybe I'll try it some day, if they ever fix the nauseating performance.

I just thought - having followed absolutely none of the marketing - that it was a sort of indie-style spiritual successor to Dead Space by a studio with a handful of devs who once worked on that. But done in the usual kickstarter indie style of making super highend graphics effects in UE4 or whatever that runs terribly and is all kinds of janky and unable to live up to the expectations due to budget and time constraints. Apparently I was completely wrong about that and internally it was considered not a AAA but a AAAA at the studio and publisher. For a horror game, in a new, unknown franchise? That's really bizarre. I dunno - I really liked Dead Space 1 and 2, but I didn't really want to play some knock-off. From the reviews I heard that there weren't more than just a couple of different enemies and you just did a clumsy and repetitive melee combat loop with a bit of shooting. So all of that sounded exactly like the "indie game that couldn't quite meet the expectations due to lack of resources" - I figure some people had a nice pay-day.

It's sold well on console(PS5) just not on the PC, where consumers have platforms like Steam to judge a game by. Nicknaming a game 'AAAA' is always going to be asking for trouble. But then again there is a Dead Space movie in the works, so maybe that explains it? Which on paper could well be an excellent movie if done right.

The game is like a new gen remake of Dead Space from the same maker... (till that point, it's all good) Sadly the game is horrible on most device due to bug and bad interface, too bling bling on screen and bad gameplay, stupid story with no depth (where DS were really well writen)... AND on top of that it is too expensive: 60 Euro for the basic version... No way, we are not on console, they should have 1st asked to Ubisoft the result of the price survey they have done recentely.

All I can say is after the stress they put Alex through, I hope they watch and follow his future PC ports manifesto for future efforts! [youtube=Kr7RGkFuPdQ]

Really? I thought they did hotfix it and that it ran much better after that.

They did - the stutters were patched like two days after the game was released but the damage was already done in both early reviews/players minds considering people are still asking/talking about it. It's a massive fuck up on the developers part - DF told them it was an issue months before launch and they shipped the game anyway. If it launched without issue, would it have sold the ~5M expected? Probably not -- but sales certainly would have been better as it got a ton of negative publicity for the terrible performance. As for the game.. I got about 7ish hours into it and agree with what most people are saying here, it's pretty boring mechanically. The story isn't really gripping me or anything.. game is just okay. 6.5/10. Graphics are extremely good though with RT on. I agree with people saying the menu sucks but realistically you're only in it for like a few minutes to configure everything. Idk - I loved Dead Space but this feels like discount Dead Space. Just doesn't have whatever made that game good.

Dead space 2, the highest rated and best selling installment in the series and the best version of this game only sold 4 million copies so why on earth would they think they were going to sell 5 million. Oh and Dead space 2 was made on a budget of 60 million, a number much closer to what I would expect for a single player horror game a few hours long with minimal replayability.

Yeah I don't think it ever would have got the 5M but I would be interested in seeing how it would perform in a universe where it didn't launch with several 1000 upvote reddit articles, youtube videos from DF/Etc and forum threads that completely shit on it's performance. I think that was a large turn off for most people.

I'll buy it when they remove Denuvo. After a few months I guess, and for sure it will be cheaper at that time.
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/115/115462.jpg
Yeah, really funny how they screw with day 1 purchasers like that. And then cheapskates like me, grab it 1 year later without denuvo and bug fixing patches, for a quarter of the original price or less. Either way, I didn't have big expectations for this one, so this is no surprise...
