Seems the Fury cards may bring about some modest price cuts for Nvidia. WCCF tech reporting Nvidia AIBs may be dropping prices on 980/980ti to $479/629.

Not really imposing on the 980Ti but does a very good job of dispatching the 980. Gonna be hard to sell the X now.

Plenty of room for an OC there. AMD are missing out on a good opportunity. Fury X with reference liquid cooler and no unlocked voltage is something else though... The Fury looks to be a good card but no prices here yet so gonna have to wait. If it's less than a 980 that would be spot on 🙂

Plenty of room for OC? This the problem. If these cards are not voltage unlocked soon and do not have good OC headroom, any enthusiast who knows better will just take a 980. A (cheaper) OC'd 980 > mildly OC'd Fury. Fury X has no chance vs 980ti, the latter with already confirmed massive OC headroom that simply leaves FX in the dust. Maybe an FX v2 can address that. At least Fury/x are good at 4k and CF where they may scale better in multi-GPU setups. Personally I would love for AMD to sell millions of Furys, at least to stay in the game a bit longer. Just doubt it will happen.

I meant from the temperature readings. They're not running too hot for an OC. I do know they're currently voltage unlocked, I stated that in the post.

It's a better GPU so not surprised with that.

Finally got to play with my Fury X, just to see the Fury isn't that much less performance for $100 less! Wish I would have waited, but oh well!

I meant that the scores seem better compared to the launch review of Fury X.

Nah, the watercooling and extra stream processes will come in handy in the future.

I Feel the prices are way too high , especially for AMD. really dont like where this is going. Nvidia will even go over that with the next set of cards.

True. Prices are way to high in general.

I do not know what resolution you run on, but test for yourself few of games you play most. Test release 15.150.0000/15.150.1004 vs 15.200.1023.10/15.200.1046.0. Because Even Hilbert's scores in this review are identical with those 15.150 release drivers for Fury X. On 4k there is difference only in case Fury X was not fully utilized before, but on lower resolutions there is quite notable difference. One should wonder why card with 12.5% less of everything enabled and clocked down by 4.5% performs within 4~8% from full original... Go, find for yourself.

Prices are quite good considering area of each chip and fact that *d*ots buy graphics cards, OC hell out of them and then RMA them as they fail in time.

Don't buy, persuade others not to buy. Prices will go down if they can. Or AMD/nV will simply stop making those big, expensive GPUs.

Wow, nice overall system upgrade. I remember you had some APU and budget gpu before 🤓

Great review as usual Hilbert I hate to be hating but no world records coming from these cards is very disheartening. tx even on air crapped on all the ln2 780 ti records this card should have at least did that but no matter to beat a dying horse

If it doesn't OC well without touching the voltage, giving more voltage will not make big difference. Just more noise, heat and higher power usage. Default boost for ref GTX 970 is 1178 MHz while my card can do 1500 MHz without touching the voltage. 980 Ti overclocks very similarly. Few mV's will not give +200 MHz. It will barely make any real difference.

well you can't compare voltages like that. Or if you said Intel cpu needs no voltage up to this, while AMD only to that and doesn't OC well.
