*looks at his 5 years old RX480* We still have a long road ahead, ol' girl.

the sad part is that this card isn't really worth MSRP let alone scalping prices
at 300$ i'd take it . Sweet card for 1080p.

My son is still rockin his 480 and loving it at 1080p. I actually offered him an upgrade, but he says he's happy enough for now.

Holy crap : https://www.x-kom.pl/p/687690-karta-graficzna-amd-msi-radeon-rx-6600-mech-2x-8gb-gddr6.html Available for 630 EUR, exacly what i paid for my R6800 on release date ....
I paid the equivalent of around 950 EUR (in CAD) for my 6800. Man i had buyer regrets when i bought my 6800 but after selling my 5700 XT for a ridiculous price on eBay and looking at the price of GPUs today i'm starting to like my purchase more and more. As someone who ran exclusively nVidia for many years before buying the 5700 XT as a stop gap waiting for RTX 3000 I would say to people looking for a GPU if you see a 6800 or 6800XT for a good price and RTX 3000 is all sold out in your region don't hesitate to grab a RX 6800. It's a good card and i don't have any problem with it so far like i did with my 5700XT. It might not be great at RT but it's a shaders beast and i don't think the industry RT support is mature enough for me to care much about it atm.

I'm similar on similar boat . I'm very satisfied with the performance , i don't care for RT right now (more like a gimmick ). At 1440p is it a monster , i already see it will age really well, all games i played till now it beat 3070 with good margin ( much closer to the 3080 performance). I think im safe for 2 years , then make this damned market will collapse and i can get upgrade for 500 eur or so .....

I paid $1500 Canadian for my Strix watercooled 6800XT last year after selling my Strix 1080TI for $1000....not bad for a $500 upgrade...But MAN is this card overpriced!!! It's not even quicker than the 1080ti and is going for $1000 easy

The only way this is true would be IF you were being bottlenecked by one or more of your hardware, your CPU perhaps? No way, shape or form is the RX 6800 XT "not even quicker than the GTX 1080 Ti", it's easily faster than the RTX 2080 Ti in rasterized gaming, let alone the GTX 1080 Ti.

Undying:

Prices are more than distrubing. Im expecting 500eur which is just insane. This is a 250eur product at best.
Most miners in the world today are mining Etherium, next year Q1 - Q2 etherium mining is coming to an end and all that's left are the other 'little' alt coins. I can see at that time the return of $300 cards as at that time it'll only be the hardcore enthusiast miners left as profits will be low to non-existant for a while.

Maybe I'd gotten it wrong, but wasn't he referring to the RX 6800 XT? He couldn't have been comparing his GTX 1080 Ti to another GTX 1080 Ti when he'd said, "But MAN is this card overpriced!!! It's not even quicker than the 1080ti and is going for $1000 easy". Did I misinterpret something along the way?

If he was referring to the RX6600 in his statement.....he's right. If he was referring to his own RX6800XT, he's wrong.....mostly.... Both cards are severely overpriced for what they are. The RX6600 does lose to the 1080Ti more frequently than it beats it though. I mean, if all you play is Hitman III or Assassin's Creed Valhalla, they're pretty equal and neither is a bad option. If you play anything else, the 1080Ti wins out. Of course, for it's age, the 1080Ti is overpriced as well.....

Hadn't even occurred to me that it may have been the RX 6600 he was referring to, but no way could it be priced at 1000USD, no freaking way!

There are in fact RX6600 models listed on Ebay that are $1000+ CAD.....

eBay = scalpers, but I do get it, prices are nuts everywhere. I do see 6600 XT's going for 770USD (~950CAD) for a PC Hellhound RX 6600 XT, but no sign of the RX 6600 here in my neck of the woods though .
