That means one thing: the RX 5600 XT offers a noticeable increase in performance over GTX 1660 Ti that Nvidia can't negate with a refresh.

Well as long as you can ray trace and use dlss where properly applicable for just under 300€, it's a better/superior value even from used vega56/64-gtx1070ti/80. Very attractive...!

There is a gap now between 2060 and 2060S (299-399$) where radeon rx5700 sits alone.

I have no intention of upgrading at the moment, but I am very excited to see anything that makes prices go down. The 5600XT is gonna be a huge hit which will put some serious pressure on Nvidia's Ampere mid range cards.

Well true, but all it's about technology. I can find 5700xt at 399. I wouldn't touch it as long as I see more and more games supporting rt. And if you do enable this in amd hardware, Vega is more powerful than current midrange Navi. It's a strange gpu to invest even for the near future.

These midrange cards are not made for rt. Lets be honest 2060 6gb cant handle it unless you have 50% res dlss and lower settings. You should not be worrying about it for now.

I think this was true with launch games but newer titles are getting better RT performance. The DF video on Youngblood shows the 2060 doing 60 at QHD on the highest settings. Also the DLSS implementation in that game is crazy good.

It was a 2060Super which is much more powerful. He also said game using more than 8GB vram on highest settings or you missed that. I give the credit to Id tech engine which it had great performance in the first place.

Ah yeah, I didn't know it was the 2060 Super - but i'd still argue the 2060 Super is a midrange card and can handle it quite well. I think it definitely cuts off there though as far as RT, I can't see lesser cards doing it without architecture level improvements.
The other thing too though, when consoles get RT I'm sure devs will start utilizing it for other features. Sound, for example, was mentioned a few times in the past as not requiring a significant amount of rays but definitely benefiting from the acceleration when calculating bounces. Will be interesting to see what things get created when the hardware is more ubiquitous.

On a more serious note about time nVidia reduce the price of the 2060. The price of the 2060 Super should be reduced too. nVidia should also keep the 2070 around at a reduced price somewhere in between a 2060 Super and 2070 Super. The price of the 2070 Super is just out of reach of most people outside of USA and the other options are not very enticing for gamers with 500 of their local currency to spend.
In Canada apples to apples (same manufacturer GB and same cooler/model Gaming OC) :
5700 484$
5700XT 543$
2060 516$
2060 Super 556$
2070 Super 719$
When you start adding the taxes the price of a good 3 fans oced and not too noisy 2070 Super is just ridiculous imo. We are talking around 800$ CAD. Some higher end models like FTW3 Ultra+ and Aorus after taxes can get close to 1k$ CAD.
At this point i'm willing to deal with AMD new drivers problem for a while. Perfectly happy with my 5700XT performance and it was almost 200$ CAD less than a 2070 Super after taxes when i bought it. I'll revise my position next gen but nVidia will have to get a clue when it comes to pricing.

How is it fair to compare a new product's value to a second-hand one? In the first place used cards have no set value. If the next gen demolishes them performance wise, nobody sane would anymore pay an arm and a leg for an old card from the old generation.
