*Nano IPS Anyway, my eyes is on the 38GL950G. I've been waiting for a ultrawide 1600p monitor with G-sync and 120/144 Hz, but does it have HDR10? Also only the 49 inch have vesa 100x100 in it's spec, I hope both support wall mount.

Not sure about those formats. What's best ? Those laaaaaarrrrrrgggggge displays, or a 32 4K 16:9 and a smaller one put vertically at its side ?

Get ready for awesome contrast ratios at 1000:1 or lower.

I have a LG Ultrawide that i love so i wouldn´t mind buying another on from them and that 38GL950G seems really nice. Too bad it has G-sync, this stuff needs to die.

My thoughts exactly, I settled on 32" 4k 16:9 with a separate 24" vertical 1080p screen next to it. This was after trying a few different sizes and realizing the curved and wide format displays were not very versatile. I benefit from more vertical space in 90% of my daily work tasks, the majority of games are still better suited to 16:9, and movies / full screen video on the ultra-wide monitors is not good with the format difference. The thing that bothers me is how the marketing always speaks of this supposed "productivity" increase with ultra-wide monitors. Either you're a day trader (in which case any one screen is still inadequate...) or its an excuse to have your browser open with cat videos next to a word processor/email. Coding, web development, writing, design work, and video editing all benefit from a taller screen imo. The most versatile screen I have ever seen for work tasks was an Eizo square (1:1 ratio) monitor, ridiculously expensive but looked amazing in person.

Indeed. Along with everything you just said, no professional illustrator, film/tv/game visual effects guru, graphic designer, photoshop monkey, etc. can work on a curved screen and count on proper angles, ratios, etc. So, again, the "productivity" tag for professionals goes right out the window with a curved screen. It also makes movies look stupid. 🙂

Hey man. Not really. This would really help in finance, I don't like having 2 monitors. This one scratches my itch.

f.y.i. courtesy of TFTcentral: "In the production of Nano IPS, a layer of nanoparticles (hence the name) is applied to the standard W-LED backlight of the screen. These absorb certain wavelengths of light, for instance absorbing unnecessary yellow and orange which in particular leads to more accurate red shades. From a technical/chemical point of view it is a KSF phosphor layer that is added (K2SiF6 doped with Mn4) and gives rise to the name “KSF LED” to describe the backlight unit. This KSF layer allows Nano IPS panels to offer a wider than normal colour space equating to 98% of the DCI-P3 reference, which is about 135% of the sRGB space. This allows support for HDR 10."

I went with an alienware and despite not having HDR, It is amazing for productivity and gaming!
