I didn't say it was untrue. But 80,000 litres is like 0.0005% of UK milk production. It's an incredibly small amount in the grand scheme of things. All waste is bad of course, but it's not as big a story as they try and make out, that we're about to face milk shortages. Anyway, will be interesting to see what financial help they get from EU, if that info ever gets published.

Well quite, so it wasn't dumped in the end.
When I spotted the article with a happy ending, I naturally chose it. It was heartening there was a farmer who successfully fought against Boris Johnson's new order. Not all articles had happy endings, unfortunately.

The price of milk has increased 15% in the last 6 months or so, just this week I noticed it went from £1.10 to £1.15 for 4 pints at my local Aldi. Brexit could have been a decent thing, but the government didn't want to do it and since they were writing the details, we got something that kind of looks like we left the EU, but when you scratch the surface most things remained the same. We couldn't even get the fishing rights back for our sovereign territorial waters. Immigration is not improved, we are supposed to have a Royal Navy to protect us against other nations attacking us, they can't even stop amateurs with no sailing experience getting to our shores in makeshift boats. It's a bit like asking anyone to do stuff they don't want to do, they make such a mess of it that you never ask them again.

Let me guess, you don't even know what the European parliament does do you? Oh well... Keep doubling down I guess...
You know it's not actually allowed to do anything other than rubber stamp policies that are made by the Eurocrats. It's not allowed to suggest new policies, or change existing ones. It can theoretically reject one (last I heard this had been done twice in the complete history of the parliament). It basically is just there to make it look like Europe is run by elected people. The actual power lies with the heads of state (mainly those of Germany and France who can bully the others into line) who leash the many nameless unlected bureaucrats who in turn are the ones allowed to make/amend policy. This is probably a good thing as because the parties in the parliament are national not european so instead of having a few big parties of which you only need a couple to work together to make an effective majority it has lots of tiny little parties (several for each country), and if it actually had to operate like a proper parliament it would be competely paralised. Pro or anti brexit you've got to hate the European system of governent because it's a massively inefficient and undemocratic.
