Wake me when the benchmarks are up
See you in 2 years!

Nothing good comes out of Intel! 1. Only high prices and medium quality! 2. See SSD for medium quality and prices in the sky 3. 5-year processors have improved by 5% each year, and this in some tests 4. AMD has returned to the processor market, suddenly a 25% improvement? šŸ˜”

Wouldn't mind having another player in the market. more competition is always better. I just don't think that Intel stands a chance

its called business, welcome! by 25% what do you mean exactly?

I think its time for Nvidia to have some real competition. Lets face it AMD doing the job
and you Intel would be the one to challenge Nvidia? the same intel that scrambles to stop Ryzen? pfff

Quite frankly i have very little expectations about this because i donĀ“t see Intel catching up to Intel and AMD in terms of drivers, they are behind then like what 10 or 20 years??? And without quality drivers, any consumer GPU is pretty much useless... I think Intel should stick with their dedicated GPUs and improve them as much as possible and leave discrete GPUs to Nvidia and AMD.

This is called bullshit, lack of credibility, blackmail because there are not enough competitors!

more competition, should reflect back on us, hopefully !

Probably see Intel APUs as well.

Something makes me wonder if Intel had the idea to do dGPUs because of mining...

dGPUs because of mining...
News ! News ! RayTraceCOIN Launches in 2020 ! The first digital coin ever that is useful for something... raytracing for Hollywood movies, TV and such. AD: "Help to render the next episode of GoT and earn money ! Earn 1 RayTraceCOIN for every frame that your Intel RTGPU produces" (smallprint) Electricity in your area might cost 1000 times more than the value of the coin, but who cares?

Intel can't even compete with AMD in the CPU front, and you want them to compete with Nvidia.... I laughed so hard.
Are you serious ? AMD still doesnt even come close in a single core workload yet just because AMD has made gains people are in love with them. Its 2018 and AMD has finally found a solution for Haswell LMAO Yet coffee is 25% faster

Scrambles ? Im not sure what you mean ? 299x was only made to take sales away from AMD which it did. Intel has the resources to do this. Listen im not a fanboy but facts are facts Intel has the highest single core out there for games and the best cpu for rendering lets just face the facts. AMD has Ryzen its prices so its on par with intel

Nah, they are after the extremely lucrative deep learning/AI/whatever markets where Nvidia is making a killing because they have very little competition. Intel wants a piece of that pie. Releasing a discrete GPU for gaming is basically trowing a bone to gamers, so they can pretend they care about us...

Heh Intel is barely competing with AMD as far as IGPUs are concerned they are barely a blip on the radar anymore. So I don't think them releasing their own discrete GPU will change things. The only hardware thing that Intel good at is CPUs and yeah Intel's marketshare has dropped by quite a bit thanks to AMD's Zen CPUs.

That should be new uArch and Raja's mind in it. If that's worth anything, I can't say, but to some, he is GPU God, to others just someone who screwed badly and run or was made to leave.

I for one hope they are successful and possibly push the market to innovate. The more players out there, the better it will be for consumers. Having to choose from one or two options is getting old. Pretty stagnant lately on all PC fronts.

Good good. The CPU market has shown very clearly this year that no one king of the hill must rule supreme, or technology comes to a near standstill. Same is true for GPUs. Nvidia currently is king of the hill, prices were already at an all time high before mining became a big thing, and new cards have always been more of the same thing, just a bit faster. There has been no new technology for years now.

It's not about resources alone, it already tried and failed doing all kind of none-CPU chips. from consoles SOCs, low power smartphones chips and even dedicated GPUs. all failed, you know why? because Intel is a one trick pony. maybe they can literally "buy" a GPU design with enough money but you need the right mindset for that. Nvidia is not even trying right now Nvidia is miles ahead, GPUs are quite different from CPUs and require very different talent. Intel huge lead was due to the fabrication powerhouse it has built, their fabs are their own, they focused only on their CPUs(whereas TSMC has tons of customers with very different requirements) and were ahead in terms of process node. but this is no longer the case, 10nm seems to be in a horrible shape while other fabs are already sampling 7nm(which should be about equivalent). they are talking about 2020! the project could die before that(though Intel is really interested in GPUs now due to rising markets like AI, Cryptocurrency, Cloud GPU)
