Intel can´t get anything right nowadays... What´s happening inside the company???
Probably the same classic thing that has happened to most corporations... Success and domination breed complacency and the underestimating of your competition. Lisa should dispatch someone to print out the news/reviews from everyday from the Intel Core 2 days, label it 'how not to rest on our laurels' and distribute it to every executive in the company. ...and then go find the next Jim Keller. Just a thought...

Hope somebody gets fired for this huge fail.
Why you hope to see people being fired? Is it some kind of stress relief to you?

It only works that way if the device itself is PCIe 4.0 compatible. A 3.0 card in a 4.0 slot is still only going to operate at 3.0 speeds.
Is exactly what i wrote. A 3.0 card is just a 3.0 card. A 4.0 card on a 4.0 platform offer you more flexibility with 3.0 x16 equivalent performance. ( if the motherboard is properly wired up to do so )

After the Pentium 4 days Intel said it would never happen again, but you know, history has a tendency to repeat it's self.

wow more incompetence from Intel, I'm shocked. The company needs a new CEO to bad Lisa Su has a job.
If that happened AMD would be bankrupt. Lisa Su working for INTEL would be the most deadly company in my eyes.

Lisa Su lied & tricked INTEL and INTEL got lazy and too confident. I knew Lisa was lying when she took over and said, " WE AREN'T FOCUSED ON HIGH END PERFORMANCE CHIPS." I knew Lisa was messing with INTEL's head.

That's some crazy dramatic romance right there. I will pay to see it in movie.

What's the lieing and tricking part about? Serious question here, what did I miss?

it has nothing to do with chipsets, the gen 4 controller in zen 2 experiences unusual noise related errors and rather than admit a problem and tell people they may have to drop back to gen 3 properly, they dialed back the smu logging and covered it up.
I haven’t heard about this issue. Do you have a source?

https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/ciajef/placeholder_update_on_whea_warnings_destiny_2_and/ its in here somewhere, im not digging for it though. Robert indicated the logging level would be reduced to "quieten" them rather than actually fixing the source, and then pushed what is considerably misinformation about pcie controllers generally having small amounts of errors during what constitutes idle activity. low error rates during low utilisation become high error rates under high utilisation based on exponential scale and this was (and still sometimes is) the source of WHEA bsods and underperforminace on zen 2 processors.

The new platform should have been PCIe 4.0 and it should have been coupled to a 10 core CPU, before that turned out to be unpractical because of high power usage. Will the new platform even be different then the current platform after these changes? This error will cost Intel millions of $ in lost revenue from sales, together with wasted money on development. Big OEMs like Dell, Lenovo, HP and more, will also feel that there PCIe 4.0 design money was wasted and they would need to continue to pay a small extra cost (1$ guess) on every single motherboard made to comply with 4.0, instead of the more simple and cheaper 3.0. There will also be setups that would no longer be possible now with the slower bus speed, like some SSDs, multiple GPUs and Raid controllers for small workstation use.

Steam = More Chinese people playing games with their own accounts in Internet Cafe's, so same 1 Intel CPU might represent 50 or 100 steam accounts. Those will not be upgraded until they are no longer capable of playing e-sports titles, which might be a long, long time. Steam stats can be safely ignored, don't reflect reality.

Correct, this was proven from a few sites like PCGAMER. Sorry to hurt AMD haters. Next quarter or two INTEL stock holders will be running around panicking while AMD shareholders will have happy tears in their eyes.

I'm guessing you're not an AMD fan or stock holder. She has said this when she accepted the CEO job at AMD. As a shareholder I have followed AMD's statements pretty well.

What a great time to be not an Intel customer.

History will repeat and Intel will bring us a core 2 duo era once again claiming the performance crown for another decade. Its inevitable. Until then its Ryzen time.

So she said she lied and tricked Intel? That doesn't quite sound like her but alright, will have to take your word for it due to a lack of information on my end after asking.
