Imported from China or Taiwan, does the US view Taiwan as part of mainland China or is this a backdoor way of help8ng Taiwanese industey while at the same time having a dig at China.

For those of us in America , buy now and do not wait. In my opinion is better to be safe than sorry 🙂 . I'm glad i got my rtx 4090 at msrp and just in time before this thing start hitting the already high gpu prices.

I don`t think the US has any problem with Taiwan or with TSMC, their problem is what happens if China goes through with their ideas of invading Taiwan. Then they lose TSMC and become even more dependent from China regarding the production of high tech products.

Ouch! I guess Americans are going to get a taste of what it feels to be European regarding GPU prices... Unless Intel, Nvidia and AMD put some money on the table to lobby (bribe) a solution for this...
Why is everything so Expensive in Europe and Australia? Australia I can get being its an island, but still.. Hawaii has to be expensive also.. Or is it the exchange rate for currency?

100% agree.. Bite the bullet! It sucks, but at least you will have a newer GPU.. Glad I bought my 3090 ti a few months ago. Edit.. IF you can find one. I can find one on any Microcenter sites. I doubt Best buy has any either. Get a 30 series card if you can .

Not sure about Australia as i havnt lived there for a very very long time but the UK and Europe are expensive for some things but not others, try buying a European car or a beer in Turkey, then buy a meal, the differences are crazy.

Universal healthcare, public works and extensive benefits. We pay higher taxes, but get a safety net in return. Ironically, people are so used to this, they often don’t understand how it’s funded.

Thats the same with modern life in general, its the old Jordan Peterson comment that a five year old could draw a helicopter with an ovel and two crosses and we know its a helicopter, but an actual technical drawing of a functioning helicopter is so much more detailed, thats how life is. How many times have we been in a pub and heard somebody tell everybody how the country should be run, or how the manager needs to set up a particular football team, the financial experts often can't make their money last the month and the football expert couldn't manage a family trip to the shops.

the US has never seen Taiwan as any part of China (despite the "one China" policy). from the post WWII to the 1970's the US has supported and enabled Taiwan exclusively, after 72' we started relations with China (and allowed them to have a Security Council seat that used to belong to Taipei) and both the US and China agreed on an ambiguous formula for Taiwan relations. and oh yeah, we'll still have a dig at China... mainly for revenge for making us look foolish vis a vis trade policies (forced tech transfer etc...)

I agree with this, although, I think there are a lot of people that could do things much better. The problem is the system.. There are too many entities from the outside influencing things. Some normal guy with common sense, could easily come in and run a football team.. The problem would be all the owners have a system and won't deviate from it because of money. Just think if politicians weren't beholden to lobbyists, all these people that give money to politicians to get elected and once they are elected, they spend all our money to pay these people back. Enacting a bunch of agenda's that go against what the people that voted in for. Just think if the people that got elected actually did their job and worked for the people.. They work for themselves and throw us a bone once in a while..
