AMD is gonna murder Nvidia next batch of GPUs. The power efficiency is crazy. I dont think my loop could handle this. 280 and 240 rad. I have two 420 rads in the shed, but just wow.....

I doubt it. This is likely going up against dual GPU cards from AMD. Don't forget that they're neck and neck in efficiency this generation, and that's with AMD having a node advantage and infinity cache. Nvidia is about to up their cache game and match nodes with AMD.

Before connecting high voltage equipment, you should test your electric sockets with this precision equipment. 😱

Pretty soon, American households will have to use their 220v power sockets for these computers because they'll exceed the 1800W limit on domestic power sockets....

On a more serious note, with 18k shaders, is this actually a dual GPU card? Chiplets for data centers? I mean, 600mm² says otherwiese, but... wth? Also, does this mean we're supposed to buy 1500+ W PSUs now? Scalpers will not only buy GPUs now, but also high wattage PSUs... oh the inhumanity!

I can already imagine american gamers at house looking at their Teslas and thinking" I should charge my car but then how can i play Fortnite?..." Though decision...

So, when change name to kWforce...or gWforce maybe soon?

most houses are 200-amp like mine.

I'm just waiting for the people who say "why do you guys care about wattage that much?" or "yeah but in terms of performance-per-watt, it's very efficient!".

Should Intel release a 12980XE, it's actually very likely a 15A circuit breaker would trip. Don't forget that it's not just the CPU and GPU drawing power - you've got all the other things that may be connected to the same outlet too. Also, a lot of houses have 10A fuses, or have multiple rooms sharing the same fuse.

/facepalm it all going in the wrong direction and sheep will buy it and make them think it the right direction

fuse?...that would only be in a very old house with no electrical upgrades. (pre 1960s)

Whoops meant breaker. Though... in my area, there are houses old enough to still use fuses.

Laughs in superior British electrical safety....We have circuit breakers in the house and fuses in the plugs! MWHAHAHAHA And then cry when I step on a plug left on the floor.....
