Yesterday there was a news that the cheapest palit 3060ti costs 500eur while others go for 550eur. Good card. Now lets imagine how cool it would if it was really a 400$.

C R A Z Y 😱 I'm so happy for myself to have skipped rtx 2000 but also feel sad for the people who bought them 🙁 the "60" card of this gen is tailing, sometimes surpassing a "80" from the previous gen, even in 4K !!! you cannot say Nvidia didn't make a big jump in performance this gen, helped by amd's competition of course, not denying that but still very good news for gamers, if they can buy one, and not for 2x msrp :/
No need to be sad, the 2K generation was a fun upgrade and new tech is always enjoyable. I'm more sad for people with 2-3 gen old tech that now can't even buy an upgrade until who knows when.

I don't think anything but the FE will possibly hit the $400 mark, and if things keep up the way they have so far the FE's will not be available in any meaningful numbers for the foreseeable future.

lol in that case I must make you depressed, seeing as I'm still using an R9 290. Turn off AA and lower shadow details and that GPU still performs great at 1080p, but I have a 4K display and I'm pretty much stuck with old or indie games if I want to play anything at that resolution. This was the year where I'm like "hmm maybe I can finally upgrade" but at this rate, I'm not sure I'll even get to in 2021, unless I win something from Hilbert's giveaways.

Just hang in there, play some games and even this shall pass 🙂

I upgraded to a 2070S in April of this year from a GTX1070. Personally I don't feel bad because I've not seen a 3070 or a 3080 for sale ant any of the retailers that I use so I'd still be stuck with the 1070. 2 years from now I can then buy a 3k card when they get ready to release whatever the next model is. I wasn't even going to buy the 2070s but I decided to splurge on the money from my corona check.

@Hilbert Hagedoorn Great GPU review as usual, it's comprehensive and goes straight to the key points. By the way, it's nice to see you are using CapFrameX (CX) for the frametimes analysis sections; at least it is quite evident in what has to do with the frametimes graphs and the corresponding comparisons you showed. I was wondering if you would consider mentioning the program somewhere in the article and giving CX some credit.

Wow this card is basically a 3070, some games are barely a few frames apart for something that's meant to be £100 less. Really begs the question why you'd go for a 3070 unless you don't mind spending that much for a few frames.

feb 2021 at the earliest I suspect well, while 3060ti and 3070s are overpriced as hell,it's still better than buying a 2080s/2080ti before ampere.

Want to be excited about the 3060ti, but lets be honest this is nothing but another paper launch. These cards will be gone in milliseconds. The starting price won't be 399 but 650.00 on ebay and may go higher as Christmas gets closer. I would hope for a higher yield but I would be very skeptical. Funny things is the titles for these reviews should be. 3080 Card starting at 1299.00 on Ebay, 3070 starting at 800.00 on ebay and 3060ti starting at 650.00 on ebay.,

the other shoe drops. this will be Nvidia's best seller imho. ray tracing is nice and great eye candy, but it's a hard sell at lower prices/frame rates/settings. this is Nvidia's window of opportunity vs. AMD at this segment for now as who wants an rx 580 when this is around the same price. these low to mid range cards pay for all of the fancy research.

Great, more stuff we can't buy. The miners will be buying this one by the pallet as well. As for RT, I think Nvidia needs to take a different approach. Instead of increasing RT cores with higher models, they should keep that element of their cards fixed so it's seamless across the board. That would help justify the cost at least. Decreasing RT cores is really pointless long-term.

So right then! The 3060ti is almost kicking in x2 the performance of my 1070 and so all it needs now for that Bingo moment is for AMD to match the x2 performance of the 1070 with a 350 price tag and energy consumption of 150watts for their 6700 and shout! Bingo! full house!

Great card which should be priced at $299 and 3070 at $399 and so on. Both AMD and Nvidia dropped the ball, meaning I am staying with 1080ti another generation.
LOL alrighty then smart one.

Love the computerbase review, they leave absolutely no stone unturned. https://www.computerbase.de/2020-12/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-asus-msi-test/3/#abschnitt_lautstaerke__kuehlung 3060ti vs 2080 super from computerbase +5% 1440p (17 games avg.) +8% 1440p RT on (5 games avg. , 15% in Control) +10% 4K DLSS on (3 game avg.) +13% in 1440p path tracing (Quake 2 RTX) 200w vs 241w power consumption in game 22w vs 44w power draw on desktop with dual monitor setup Really nice card at $400, better than a $700 2080S in every way.Wish it was available.
