as long "1080ti" can perform either better or as-good or comparable to vega i dont find reason for nvidia not releasing it based nvidia history itself, most of time they milking each gen as much as possible pascal refresh (2080) will release afterward... then 2080ti just like past releases kinda hard finding the "right" time for buying gpu its like you picking new/next gen chip or wait for best chip to be down priced but for 1080ti it seems, wait for pascal refresh better

This. I can't remember how long it took for 780>780Ti or 980>980Ti, but it will (from the look of things) be almost 1 year from 1080>1080Ti, and this was mostly (or entirely) due to AMD being so late to the game. I'm not ruling out completely that I'll get one (especially if I can get a good price for my 1070) but yeah, it just seems a bit too short time to enjoy a 1080Ti, unless they release the next gen in spring next year at the earliest ...

Nice to see this one incoming. Best price to performance ratio between this GTX 1080TI and AMD Vega 10 will get my money :thumbup: , let's hope it brings good competition and better pricing !

Nah, mostly so they can milk them (GTX1080) & charge more longer. It was always like so since Kepler when NV decided to price Gx104 as high-end. Why change the recipe if it works lol, well imo it wouldn't if people were smarter and waited; NV would be forced to sell cheaper and release that true high-end sooner.

yeah right! I think maybe two guys in the world did that I sure am not one of them :D I am just waiting to see what runs catzilla best out of the ti the amd card or titan xp. I don't game much just benches so I will sit and wait till even the custom boards come out. as some of you guys talking about prices? It might be best if the amd hype train gets it out that they have a $500 titan xp killer 😉 or they really do

I guess you'll run better with the Vega part due to the parallelized architecture, but I guess we'll see it when stuff's around. I just don't think they'll release that big Vega for 500$, although it would be nice 😀

The way pricing is rising in gpu tech i think my Evga 980ti classified will be the last highend(at the time) gpu i buy for the next 2-3 years unless it dies, by then i`ll be in my 50`s and still on minimum wage with the cost of living ever increasing.
Exactly my thoughts!!! The prices are out of control. Looks like I won't be upgrading anytime soon. To many console ports, and so far, FPS games have come to a stand still. Might have to hold out for the 2080 ti, and see how that card will perform with the new Farcry 5 ( I don't count Primal as # 5 ).

Tbh i wont be buying no more high end GPU's for alongtime as PC gaming is poor at the moment in my opinion. Ive gone full circle about 10 times and cant be arsed with any of it and have not bothered for well over a year.
