I doubt it, i imagine some of the £200 supermarket ones might do, but my present LG TV from 2011 doesn't and the 2008 Samsung i had before that didn't either, both also had actual dedicated PC modes as well.

this is not that much of a surprise, so many people are relying on trading in old games to get new ones for less $$'s. If that is not possible then the sales will go DOWN... badly...

What's a console 😕

gamestop is just trying to keep there stock holders from dumping them. gamestop not the only one that will lose profit, but then there the ones that will lose the most cause they like to sell, Opened games at new prices.

Im just gonna import some games on the cheap then sell them at a profit on trademe for less than retail. (Nz ver of ebay/amazon)

my problem is being a dad,
i like to still play the odd game and so do my sons.
rather than me playing Halo4 for an hour or so then my sons playing it upstairs split screen. i would now have to buy 2 or 3 copies of the same game.
as soon as i play it downstairs on main TV its locked to that console. i would have to buy each of the boys their own copy as a fight would start out whos xbox would have it installed on.
unless 1 copy allows same ip or 3 installs i doubt i will be investing in a new console.
it would be good if it was like steam and i could logout downstairs and the boys login upstairs. but then thats one console at a time. it just sucks money grabbing and never thinking of a large family sharing one disk.

The Nintendo Wii U ain't all that special hardware-wise but if Sony and Microsoft do not allow used games on their consoles then it will be an easy winner for most gamers. If MS and Sony concede this round i can see a lot of people migrating to Nintendo and PC.

Would not buy anything made by Microsoft.
360 is poorly designed.
FABLE,FORZA,GEARS,HALO. No thanks.
People waffling on about PC, it's not much better gaming wise or at all.
RPG'S, crysis a 2007 game woo hoo. Poorly made metro 2033.
If your a gamer.
PS4
PC
is the only way to go moving forward.
Sony buys studios, delivers new ip's.
Microsoft pay millions for early demo's and early dlc. pathetic.
Redemption80
They both do the same thing, Sony just make more SP heavy exclusives while MS does more MP aimed stuff.
Other than Forza I prefer the Sony ones, whether they can afford to keep supporting the PS4 remains to be seen, MS could easily buy exclusivity to lots of previously multi platform titles.

Never going to happen, no point in Sony/MS making a console if they can't take their cut.

I was raging, ghosty.
I meant as far as games go.
I play atm PS3/PC.
I never bought PS2/XBOX, only had PSX. Before that was all computers, Amstrad, amiga etc and back at the beginning of time Atari woo hooo.
I think MS new machine will be a lot of Kinect 2.0. With some harder core thrown in.
PS4 will be hardcore with some move or whatever thrown in.
I Have quite a few games on PC.
Just completed DMC and i'm playing Deadspace 3 atm. Much better with unlocked fps.
But I just hate some people that waffle that pc is the only thing worth having.
I mean Metro was a poor game, the whine of the guys voice was suicide inducing.
BF3 is another game that excels on PC. number of players and size. But I don't think any of that will matter for PS4/720. Large scale games will be easily done.
So for me it will be PS4&PC.

Yeah, survery made by game-reselling company, very objective...
People will tell that they won't buy it, because something, and then yet another CoD is top seller and yet another console is bought.
PC gamers already have that with Steam, Origin, Battle.Net, Ubisomething etc. and in most cases it's not that bad. You get quick, easy distribution, and in case or Steam really good multi-PC support (I play on both my laptop and desktop PC).
The problem is that I can't give games away to my friends and family, but it's not the end of the world. For example my brother has my Steam passwords, so he can test games before buying or just play ones that I finished. A friend of mine logged on my PC and installed HoMM6, so we can play hot seat mode.
I really dislike is that people can't just transfer games to their relatives and close friends, even though I'm aware that I should consider a game as a service that I pay for and that I should accept that it's a service just for me. We got used to treating it as something that we can resell, but let's consider such scenario:
1. You buy a ticket to the cinema
2. You watch the movie
Easy, right? That's something that we know and are used to it, however lets extend it. Lets say that the ticket has your name on it, and it lets you watch this movie as long as you want, so you get something extra.
3. So if the movie is good, you watch it again, cool.
4. You want to give the ticket to your friend, or sell it with discount, but you're not allowed to. So you get angry.
5. You want to watch the movie later on, but they're not showing it anymore. So you get angry, despite the fact that you watched a movie, perhaps a few times.
Point 4 is reselling, 5 - closed servers. Of course it sucks, but you already had your fun. If you want to still have fun with points 4 and 5, you get a game from a company that won't make problems with them. There's already no-reselling policy, but people did not care. You've "bought" a product with no-reselling statement, and by opening a box blah blah blah, you've agreed on that. In fact you pay for a service that lets *you* play the game. Sorry, it's the life. If you want to sell game that you actually buy, get one with such distribution policy.

What I observed over here, in Poland is that:
1. Games can be cheaper - PC games usually cost around $40 at the release date, but there are some exceptions. For example Blizzard games cost more (but they're worth paying for in my opinion), and some cost less - even around $30 for so-called AAA titles.
2. Price of most of the games drops a lot with time. For example, you could get Crysis 2 for like $9 not too long after release. And I'm talking about official distribution.
3. Me and some of my friends stopped buying games on the release date unless we really care. Otherwise, we buy them at discounted prices later on. The publisher still gets some $$$, and we don't have to pay a lot. One-time games should be made cheaper some time after release. For example CoD series cost a lot and don't drop in price. I might play single-player campaign, and being not interested in multiplayer aspect of this game I haven't bought Black Ops 2. If prices drop, perhaps I'll get it, but until then they won't get my money. On the other hand, I might buy Crysis 3 a few months after release. NFS: The Run looked like **** for $30 on the release date, but for $10... well... It really works - people who care will buy it for full price, and the rest will still buy it. It's proven, it works.
4. I know nobody who regretted paying full price for DRMed Starcraft II almost 2x more than the regular "AAA" game over here. If you're getting a product that lasts for months or years, you do not care about no-reselling policy.
