The rumours are that it will have a pathetic 3300 mAH battery and the fingerprint scanner will be in the same super awkward location as the S8. A 6.3" phone, with a 3300 mAH battery and no proper way to reach the scanner. No. Thanks. I'll stick with this stupid Chinese Axon 7 I have for a few years now that its software is finally tolerable.
Looks like we are paying for the failure of the Note 7.. I'll stick with my Note 4 till the wheels fall off..
You're not missing much in Android 7 as long as you're using a launcher you like. I've been using Nova Prime since 2012 which already had Android 7 features before my phone even got updated to 7, so I basically got nothing from it but Daydream support. Which btw, is useless, because VR causes phones to go boom in 20 minutes.

So glad the smartphone mania never got to me...my PC hardware expenses are enough as it is. You know what though, I can only congratulate Apple/Samsung for mastering the art of milking the idiots. I know several people who buy these yearly, some from both companies and they are all actual idiots with too much money for their own good...

Say's the one with a 1080 Ti, a 5820k and a 1000w PSU; more than probably 99% of average computer users. It's the top of the line flagship phone, with everything including the kitchen sink thrown in. You get this because you want the best at any price. No idea why so many people are throwing hate here, if you want a "normal" priced phone then go for the A series of phones from Samsung, or a previous generation S6 or S7. This is the halo product, of course it will be priced high; same thing as cars. No one seems to complain about the fact that a Lexus 600 costs a ton more than a Corolla.... Can't afford it, don't buy it. If the phone is not good, don't buy it.

I was sure someone would point that out, sigh. Other than my 1080TI, my rig is almost 3 years old, and will likely hold me another 2 years at least. Besides, I actually USE the rig that I have more or less to its full benefits, whereas most people buying this sort of phone YEARLY or TWICE A YEAR don't. It's a status object, nothing more.

S7E will serve me until its last spark. 😀
I'm not sure how much euro the Note 7 was when it launched, but here in NZ it was $1599nzd which translates to 1040 Euro, so the fact the Note 8 is looking like its going to be 999 Euro comes to no surprise for me. Same price the Note 7 was basically lol. Was the Note 7 cheaper in Europe?
I think it was around €850 in general with few variances here and there..

For most people the phone is the one electronic item that will be by their side 24/7, and which they depend on for communication, life event photos, browsing the web, financial transactions and more. My phone held up for 4 years already, and my next phone will be top of the line as well. I'm my mind, the device that you interact with the most might as well be the best no? People spend up to multiple times more on a TV that they might watch an hour or two a day at most, where's the value proposition in that?

True that. I apply the same principle, and since I spend most of my time in front of my PC gaming... well, hardware is worth it for me. The phone however I use almost exclusively for communicating, the rest is for music while walking to and from work and when I'm really bored and not on my PC... play candy crush. :giggle2:

I would still be using my S6 Active if the battery hadn't bulged and threatened to explode. I had to get a new phone and got the S7 active. If they made smartphones to last, with more durable and less explosive batteries, i wouldnt upgrade often. My smartphone history is pretty short. 2012 Samsung Rugby Smart(ruggedized S1), 2013 Rugby Pro(S3), 2015 S6 Active, 2017 S7 Active. Its most definitely not a status object either. Its essential for me. Its the only thing i browse the web and read on, its my primary means of communication, financial transactions, etc.

The A series is also high-priced, if you compare to other maker with similar spec, the value of those phone maybe worst than S series the A series basically using current "S series" style but with many parts toned down / removed so the value is only about the "style" like curved glass... so that "normal" priced phone either

I think the same but most ppl all over the world buy expensive cars for 20 min shopping trips and then they go to work as a boss and look at a very old and cheap to began with laptop screen for 10 hours (playing candy crush and browsing amazon), after that they go back home and watch TV adverts on a 65" LCD TV (or use another trash laptop). Its like they did not know they could have fun on a PC, or gain lifetime with a fast one

The new Angry Birds game lags horribly on my Snapdragon 820 phone LOL.
