Yeah but 5 years ago it was around $25. I don't get your post. Stocks go up, stocks go down. Long term, EA has done well.

The delay might be due to the whole SJW thing blowing up in EA's face. They lost dozens of millions of dollars in preorders, and now they want to get out of the way of the likes of Call of Duty and Red Dead Redemption 2. So damage control, pretty much.

I know this is complicated, but if you change the timeline to daily, you can clearly see it was not a drop in 20 minutes. Thanks for the free popcorn. 😉

I Kind of have to agree. There are not many jsw in ranks of gamers, but they are there and vocal. I actually think that there are more trolls in battlefield games than sjw. On other hand, if someone wanted to make anti BF5 medial campaign, it would be quite easy through stating that game follows sjw's orders. And that sjw are happy about it. Then it could alienate quite large portion of regular BF players. You have seen it here. Some people angry because there was woman and black guy or two. While I shown that statistically there should be very few, it is game. In a way, it is role playing game since few of us are soldiers in real life. And as such, I would be fine with everyone playing woman with Aztec quill crown and Scottish war paint made of raytraced glitters. It would look stupid, but I care little about way enemy makes himself visible to me.

This is the one time where EA should have given a bland response full of platitudes. You know how when you ask them actually legitimate questions about actually important things and they give you the platitudes? ("We care about blah blah and it's important to us blah blah.") If there ever was a time where such a reply was needed, this was it. But nope. They got involved in the SJW vs anti-SJW "war", taking sides. And the manure hit the fan. Even though I find this very amusing, I hope devs don't lose jobs over this nonsense. DICE is too important to EA to start firing people, so I think I can continue enjoying the fallout without guilt.

I don't think it's got anything to do with Nvidia RTX. More likely they're spending more time polishing the game so it stands a better chance of making a good "first-impression" to increase sales. RTX is irrelevant as the delay affects all platforms. They know if they mess-up the release of this game, then, it's going to be Titanfall 2 all over again.

Don't get your hopes up, the delay is just for a month (even shorter with origin premiere or whatever they call it). So bugs wise, there won't be time for much fixing. The game will launch in a hilariously bad state, on a stark contrast with BF1, which was by far the smoothest BF launch I can remember (it also trashed COD of that year, at least pre-orders wise). The ONLY reason for this delay is their hope that they can fix some of the craptastic marketing and hopefully get some more pre-orders in before launch. They won't, unless the open beta will be very, very good, which I doubt, but will try.

I think release will be pretty polished what I've played was polished the problem is there are features they showed off in marketing and other behind the scenes stuff that are not ready and will NOT be in the game at release. Devs have already said the extra time is for polishing and balance. It's not enough time to finish the stuff. Personally bit sad about the co op mode as I was looking forward to that quite a bit.

Nah. The actual reason seems to be that the game is bound to fail sales expectations: https://segmentnext.com/2018/08/21/battlefield-v-pre-orders-85-behind Over the years, BF had cought up to CoD in sales. It went from -40% to -20% and BF 1 actually surpassed CoD in sales. Now all of a sudden, it's -85% behind. This was completely unexpected by EA. They had to change their revenue projections by more than a quarter billion dollars because of this. This is just damage control. They're going for any single percent they can up the sales.

Makes sense, nVidia sells 30k new cards. And everyone owning one will go buy BF5... nope, sorry. I do not see someone who does not play fps games to buy it just for RTX card moving dust in PC. (Inflating his cost by another $60 or whatever BF5 goes for.) Even if everyone buying new RTX card would not buy BF5 before and now would decide to buy it... Just a tiny little drop in amount of sales those fps games get.
