So either they're delaying Polaris 11 or this card will be obsolete in a few months time Pick your poison 😛

Peronal it dont matter to me, but wattage of hw these days does matter to, I try to get away from that stuff, and they seem to going towards as means to win
They have been going the path of less wattage for perf. Just like Nvidia with Fiji. This most likely uses around the amount 295x2 uses or less.

3x8 power connections. That's pretty crazy going into a single card, but understandable in this case.

I'd sell my 290x cards for this one, buy this card and hopefully it will run with my 1200 watts power supply. And I saw a Asus 24 inches screen with also 4k, I'd also sell my Dell UP2414Q for that hehe. I'm looking forward to the actual test results.

I bought 4GB card in 2013, and 8GB consumer cards have been available since 2014. And sometime in 2016. AMD will release super-high-end with 4GB of VRAM(effectively) :bang: Why at least not use higher capacity HBM, since the card has been delayed this long.

Higher capacity is going to be a HBM2 thing which they aren't doing til next-next generation. It's a shame.

I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere slides of more recent HBM1 version v2, with double capacity compared to that used in Fiji cards. HBM2 allows for 8 and 16GB cards, and even 32GB on pro cards.

I love the look of the case. Will be interesting to see more benchmarks.

I think this is a good indication that top range Polaris isn't coming out anytime soon, it would make no sense to release a successor to the fury x because it would compete with this. It really looks like the focus will be on mobile this year, no huge single gpu gains this year I'm afraid folks
I agree amd has not one reaon to put out highend cards at the moment or next 6 months for that matter

Power Connectors 2 x 8-pin Hmmm funny but I'm pretty sure I count 3 connected to the card in the pictures http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?ct=news&action=file&id=14181
Fury, X, and Nano all have 2x8-pin molex plugins. I'd say now looking at that fact, AMD only had 2 to safe guard power usage and future overclocking. Same could probably be said for this then.

Why would you sell your 290x crossfire cards for a dual GPU card that has less than 25% more performance than your current setup - I'm also thinking the difference will be even less than that because you have overclocked custom third party cards? And in addition Polaris is launching soon supposedly.

I agree. This GPU is a joke, now and at this price. I'll change my 290X Lightning CFX OCed under full WB when i see a single GPU who gives me at least 50% more powa than my current setup.

Sounds like a good plan! 290X 3rd party cards have been around for quite some time now, but holding up well, would have been a good buy to have jumped onto that ship all the way back end of 2013/start of 2014!

It seems me and you are both waiting for Volta, Vega or something... 😀

Why would you do that? $1,500 for a dual card that will most likely work only with workstation drivers, a couple of months away from the Polaris/Pascal announcements. Unless you need it for the actual VR work, it's not worth the dough (still better deal than a Titan X).

Well, they've gotta milk it before it's too late. Good from an engineering perspective. A waste from a gamers perspective.

Just need 3 or 4 of them for OpenCL Raytracing ( Cycles, Luxrender, Corona ) .. 64 Tflops of compute performance...

You are not alone there, would love that card to put to the test in LuxRender and Cycles,Corona is not supporting GPU at moment, but Octane 3 should be here in summer But still 350W TDP is not bad for this card, when I'm looking at Titan Z or 295X2 Thanks,Jura

AMD's high power usage and TDP is out of control.
